For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

the first one was just ginormous and then the next one was even HUMONGOUSER
they were both filled with such special and lovely things
I haven't had a chance to start to enjoy them all yet; they will give us all such a lot of pleasure and comfort, thank you xxxxx

FrannyandZooey · 24/07/2008 14:53

we are not officially discharged yet, he is still a patient there, but since he has REGAINED HIS BIRTH WEIGHT AND MORE and the consultant felt on balance it probably was not meningitis, and since we have since Sunday proved ourselves the most fusspotish parents imaginable, and since I got them to put about 3 layers of bandages over his canula (sp?), they say he can come home during the day from now on as long as we are in for his meds in the morning and evening, and to be observed overnight
and that he only needs 7 days of abs instead of 10 so we should be discharged on Sunday

FrannyandZooey · 24/07/2008 14:55

and I feel SO MUCH better since my own antibiotics kicked in
the midwife says sometimes you can get just a generalised infection in your womb and that entire area after having given birth
looking back I had so many symptoms that didn't really point to anything in partic but were making life rather miserable for me
now I feel quite marvellous for 5 days post partum (well ruddy knackered but that is mostly it)

Tatties · 24/07/2008 14:55

Oh Franny I am so pleased You must be exhausted

Guadalupe · 24/07/2008 14:55

oh that's lovely news, it must be so nice to be home.

Are you feeling better now? I assume they gave you ABS as well?

Guadalupe · 24/07/2008 14:56

oh, yes, I see you are

Tatties · 24/07/2008 14:57
