For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I should go to bed. I've been up for over 17 hours

berolina · 23/07/2008 22:54

17h ? I would suggest bed now too, possibly with a soothing tea first.

TooTicky · 23/07/2008 22:57

Maybe. I'm feeling v. despondent about it just now. I haven't gone into much detail about what will happen, have just told him he will need to go and have another special sleep.
It has sent his confidence back through the floor again as it is
Time to phone my homeopath I think and see if he can work some magic.

I have replied

Surely, having an au-pair around means more time to MN, not less, ahundred?

Oh, balloons. I think I know what you are whispering about now. Do I? Probably not actually.

bananas (3)
spinach (1)
Tomatoes (2)
ettuce (1)

oh. I thought i'd done much better than that. I'll have another banana.

UnderRated · 24/07/2008 04:54

Toot, I need help with making vegan biscuits. Sorry for bugging you so much - I know you are worried about DS2 and don't need to be faffing around with me. Feel free to ignore!

BBBee · 24/07/2008 06:47

oh toot - this must be so hard - when you are trying to make sure they know what is going on but not frightened. It is a fine balance and can send you quite quite mad.

sorry mto blather on about balloon festivals and make people think boco is pregnant!

OsmosisBanana · 24/07/2008 09:13

Erm.. Balloon fiesta anyone?

Boco · 24/07/2008 09:51

No not pg. Had early miscarriage few months ago. That's not the best example of how transparent I am Bee, it was rather a shock, I wasn't concentrating on cunning disguise.

Going to the woods for picnic with nice friends today, am glad as dp has man flu and I may poke him in the eye if we dont' get out soon.

ahundredtimes · 24/07/2008 10:15

Have a nice picnic Boco. I think you are a cunning and mysterious person, and I never see through anyone's disguises.

I am sorry about all this TooT. Be strong, he will be in good hands and I'm sure it will all be okay. Difficult for you to be strong and confident about it for him though, when you're feeling so worried yourself.

Oh dear no, sadly au pair not here to allow me to MN or whatever, but so I can do other things.

LullyOfShallot · 24/07/2008 10:25

Oh I am sorry Boco ,I didn't know

Toot you poor thing, this is all so hard isn't it?

TigerFeet · 24/07/2008 10:57

Hopefully a bit of fresh air will help you both feel better Lully

TooT it's so hard not to worry but you mustn't assume the worst... IMVHO your ds's confidence will skyrocket once his vision improves. FIL said it was amazing what difference it made once he'd had his op.

Stuck at work and the weather is glorious, am v of walks in the woods and so forth. Still, next week is my LAST EVER week working full time - three days a week from there on in - HOO FUCKING RAH DH not too happy though. I think that he was hoping for a nice increase in bank balance once we weren't shelling out for nursery fees. I saw it differently - we didn't need to bring as much money in so I didn't need to work so much. I am very much looking forward to being more of a Mum to dd.

OsmosisBanana · 24/07/2008 11:50

Good goid, my mum has started talking about Xmas plans.

Franny is coming home!

TooTicky · 24/07/2008 13:13

HOOOOOOOORRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BBBee · 24/07/2008 13:15

mrsc - who? how? why?

TooTicky · 24/07/2008 13:19

Sorry about the mc Boco, I didn't know

TooTicky · 24/07/2008 13:19

OB, your mum needs a hobby.

OsmosisBanana · 24/07/2008 13:27

I think having 4 children was her hobby. She's like a Border Collie, she still feels the urge to herd us!

Good news on the Fran front.

Planets unjumbling or summat hopefully. Nothing weird, painful, financially ruinous or gassy has happened to me today so... Still haven't been paid for my last 2 months work but hey... have now become accustomed to that. It is the NHS afterall, if TooT has to wait months for an appt, it stands to reason I should wait months to be paid.

ahundredtimes · 24/07/2008 13:35

Oh good.
