For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

filthymindedvixen · 23/07/2008 20:44

I wish i had more time.

we had pork chops with courgette, mushrooms, peas and onions in a creamy sauce served with new pots and braised red cabbage and apple.
Lunch was veg soup, strawberries and pineapple.
Reckon that's my 10 today

And did 2 hours' gardening.

filthymindedvixen · 23/07/2008 20:44

zips is camping up mountains, isn't she?>

UnderRated · 23/07/2008 20:53

v good FMF

I think zippi is galavanting somewhere. Last time she was here she hadn't packed, I think.

FrayedKnot · 23/07/2008 21:04

FrayedKnot · 23/07/2008 21:05

I wish I was off galavanting somehwere

pinkspottywellies · 23/07/2008 21:13

Just did a yoga dvd but not my usual one. It was more relax-y, connect with your breathing, wanky-bollox than my normal one which is more invigorating but by gosh I think this was quite hard-core stretching and toning in it's own way

I need a yoga DVD I think. I miss it but really can't afford a class

I want to go galavanting. My friend has invited me to stay with her in Missouri. It's a 5 hr drive and not very exciting really. And would certainly not count as galavanting.

ahundredtimes · 23/07/2008 21:23

She's in Portugal isn't she?

pinkspottywellies · 23/07/2008 21:30

It has been nice though.

Bee, as in 7th-10th August? Maybe...
Where I used to live (and my mum still does) there is a fab view over the city so I never actually went to it, just perched on the windowsill and watched.
Are you going?
Email me if you don't want to talk on here.

So, is Boco pg then? Or am I being naive again?

TooTicky · 23/07/2008 22:40

I have just been reading about cataract surgery and post-surgery problems and feel quite miserable

IdrisTheDragon · 23/07/2008 22:43

Sorry about DS2's future surgery TooT

Boco isn't pregnant - there was a thread some months ago and she was but then wasn't. I seem to remember her DD2 being asked to verify how many lines there were on the pg test.

TooTicky · 23/07/2008 22:51

Oh, I see. Must've missed that.

berolina · 23/07/2008 22:51

TooT

Does it help if you try and remember that the problems won't necessarily occur, that if you can satisfy yourself beforehand that he's in good hands - which of course you will - you have done the very best you can for a really good outcome? I know it's horrid, it sounds a nasty process with no guarantees. But everyone will be doing their best for him.
