For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello Guad. Hello everyone. We're all here to witness a birth which isn't happening because she's talking nits with someone.

I did chilly and unreceptive too. I still do. So it works brilliantly, clearly.

Boco · 10/07/2008 21:46

It might have been 3 nights - but I'd been putting her back dozens of times with telling and coaxing and cuddling and snapping - so I tried it with nothing at all, and I remember she cried - but she was stubborn and kept getting up. It did work yes - BUT she'd wake up still in the night and as I was bfing it was much more complicated to know how to handle it and how much to feed - so I really didn't have answers as it was a mess for aaaages - but I did get bedtimes sorted. She was really little - she was out of her cot by 13 months as it wasn't safe, she'd nosedive out.

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:47

I happen to NOT BE IN LABOUR
I can't contract on demand you know [huff]

Boco · 10/07/2008 21:48

Franny is it time to concentrate on the car window and the pony again?

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:49

will you PYSL if I tell you I rocked ds to sleep in a sling while breastfeeding him for about 3 years?

advantage is you can read while doing it
disadvantage is you will all go and stand over the other side of the room and give me looks

Guadalupe · 10/07/2008 21:49

hmm, thing is he sleeps in our bed most of the night, just starts off in his cot. I don't know
what the answer is

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:49

yes the pony
I am also hand rubbing
the pony and hand rubbing
gosh so much to remember, I must not get confused

zippitippitoes · 10/07/2008 21:49

i didnt open thsat thread did it say eating mangoes gives you disusting parasites in your legs

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:50

no but it did mention 'the mango fly' in connection with other parasites
I am not googling

Guadalupe · 10/07/2008 21:50

in a sling at three?

Was that uncomfortable? Well, clearly not or you wouldn't have done it. It wouuld be easier I suppose if he fed to sleep right now but he doesn't.

Boco · 10/07/2008 21:51

It's the pony and the hand rubbing in the same sentence making me stand over the other side of the room and give you looks.

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:51

"clearly not or you wouldn't have done it"

to be fair he was NEARLY three not actually three

ahundredtimes · 10/07/2008 21:51

Will he go to sleep in your bed? Would that work? I remember someone used to get out, but the door handle was too high so they couldn't get out of their room.

I can't possibly advise on this. I found ds2 asleep in the laundry basket once fgs.

I like it we're all here. We should play a game, something strenuous.

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:51

yes sorry Boco
I am trying v hard to keep them separate

Boco · 10/07/2008 21:53

Something involving bouncing? And pineapple?

Guadalupe · 10/07/2008 21:54

well, he could go to sleep in our bed, yes, but it's getting him to stay in it when he goes to bed. He thinks, this is fun, here I am, smile at me, aren't I clever.

Sorry, it's really dull, it's just a pain.

ahundredtimes · 10/07/2008 21:54

Sounds possible.

Can Franny do the bouncing with pineapple and we'll do the staring and encouraging words?

Bbbee · 10/07/2008 21:54

hullo boco 100 and avi - oh look i am like a greeter

"welcome to the 10/10 thread - please make yourself and home and consult our rampant knowledge on, um, oxidants and, er, apples...."

I have missed the pony stiff - rubbing a pony adn what? is this a norfolk hippy birth thing?

caroot i cannot advise because my children do slouching downstairs or bellowing.

zippitippitoes · 10/07/2008 21:55

i am completely starving

ahundredtimes · 10/07/2008 21:56

No, not dull. Well yes, extraordinarily dull for you, but not for thinking about.

I wish I could remember something that worked.

Bbbee · 10/07/2008 21:56

i am confusing - is the bouncing pineapple to get baby carrot to sleep or to make franny go into labour?

Guadalupe · 10/07/2008 21:56

franny to labour

i am going to slouch and bellow

ahundredtimes · 10/07/2008 21:57

Both. And also because I want to play a game.

Dh has gone to party. He was wearing terrible clothes, I made him change. I never do that. But it was in his Best Interests.

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2008 21:57

I am not doing any bouncing - and that is final
I'm going to bed
MrsC I think we have established that we are all complete bedtime incompetents
I find this strangely heartening and cheering, for some reason

Guadalupe · 10/07/2008 21:58

I do that too, the other day dh put on a short sleeved checked shirt with camouflage shorts.
