For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Franny, I keep typing Franny and then not wanting to say anything trite or comedy! But I am thinking of you lots and hope you're not too miserable

Boco, I like 100's idea of an e-mail.

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 19:37

beans
baked beans
lots of em

Lully i think my allocated cats are quite appropriate

FrayedKnot · 13/07/2008 19:39

Gosh things have been a bit stressful for everyone today haven;t they

100 I think you did marvellously. WE do also have minor incidents of this type with DS. Usually he gets his own way about stuff because there is only him but obviously sometimes we have to do things he doesn;t want to do and he can really dig his heels in.

I think it will have sunk in.

We went to the beach and it was freezing cold and we hadn;t taken the right clothes but it was fun in a tired sort of way.

FrannyandZooey · 13/07/2008 19:50

Please don't raise eyebrows at me 100x, that'll be 3 of you I've pissed off in the not too distant past.

I went to the same school as Jilly Cooper. I love Jilly Cooper, I would start a Jilly Cooper fan club and be president if I had more than one finger spare ATM. As for barbed, jeez, I really do need to take my own advice on puttting '!!!!!' or '' '' '' after everything.

Honestly 100, I was genuinely jealous. I want an aga, I want a roast chicken, and I want folk roaming around in peace.

What I have is a baby belling camping stove whilsy my ground floor is demolished, dust, and two bound hands. And a toddler.

DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING I SAY SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feeling a bit sad now, it'g getting to a point where there are more people on here who I have pissed off than people I haven't.

Don't worry though, i am forgetful and will be back to annoy you all far quicker than you would like.

OsmosisBanana · 13/07/2008 20:09

Thanks Avi, BIL just rang and told us not to freak out and to fax over the statement in the am and he'd try and make sense of it.

He said it was likely we were misunderstanding it.

I would secodn that.

100 - it's not just me. others were jealous of your kitchen too. If I hadn't mentioned JC you wouldn't have noticed me. Are you hiding a dark Jilly Cooper secret 100?

It is HBOS.

BIL seemed more optimistic than he really should be.

Could be cos he organised the mortgage! Nah, he's a good un.

Uh, he said something along the lines of 'that would be the charge for total early repayment' or summat.

We are on a fixed term, interest only jobber for 2 years. Once we made the payment, the monthly mortgage amt went down by about £80 so...

Oh, I don't know.

Painkillers wearing off, tired, too much exercise, 100 thinks I'm mean.

And cornershop has no chocolate based pudding items.

berolina · 13/07/2008 20:26

OB don't be sad.
Can you have a nice hot bath?

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2008 20:33

[lowers eyebrows]

I didn't think you were mean, I thought you were being barbed. I see that you were not. Sorry. I thought you were being sarcastic.

They are a bit of a pain Aga's actually, and when it's hot the kitchen is unbearable.

Avi - yes, you are right. It was rather admirable - especially as he was so damned polite when he was there. Just not so admirable when you are his mother, and you've done the wrong thing. Sigh.

Avi gives good advice doesn't she? You sound all efficient and marvellous.

FrayedKnot · 13/07/2008 20:35

Agas scare me

Boco · 13/07/2008 20:39

I've been finding Avi's mortgage advice strangely comforting. OB that's horrendous, it's the sort of financial thing that makes you feel all sick. HOpe the bank let you have your money back. You do seem to be having a terrible time.

Thanks for advice, I do need to email her and lay down some rules I suppose, but just not sure what I object to exactly - or if i do object, or if i should just let pictures go and ignore what she does with them. It's not like I have a reputation to be damaged, it's probably just a bit of vanity at not wanting them to go to rip off merchants or vanity publishers.

OsmosisBanana · 13/07/2008 20:40

100 - have re-read and can see how you would think that now... Also, I am usually quite barbed / sarcastic so... Hoist by my own petard. Or is it foist?

gibber gibber.

Bero, pud was lovely, thanks. And made with whiskey too, very thoughtful.

I am ignoring thoughts of baths. I think hands would fall off in rage.

OsmosisBanana · 13/07/2008 20:43

It is the idea of an aga that is lovely, bot th reality i suspect.

I want an enormous chef's range / 6 hob burner thing.

When I am a qualified Gillian McKeith turn inspector I shall have one.

I did have one gleaming beacon today...

Bristol CC are going to pay for 2 (well, lend) of my years at uni. I thought I would get nothing.

So although I've potentially lost 8.5k I've managed to boorw 7k!!!!

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 20:43

Hello

We have an Aga (or possibly a Rayburn) - can't remember which. It came with the house and did influence our choice, as did the nice big kitchen.

Plumber who came on Friday to try and sort out our non-flushing toilet had Aga . I was having at anyone with an upstairs flushing toilet. At least there is a working one in what amounts to an outhouse (you do have to go outside to get to it).

I remember you telling about your DS and the party before 100x. I think you sound a Good Mother.

Boco · 13/07/2008 20:44

I hate agas because we had one in the farm I lived in with step family from age of 14 - and I associate it with my step father saying we had to burn our tampons etc in it, and I used to wait until everyone had gone to bed because at 14 it was all devastatingly embarrassing as they'd not just disappear into fiery furnace, they'd sit there and singe for hours...
this is breaking thread etiquette now isn't it?

So, I won't tell you about the time I had a cunning aga avoidance plan and it backfired horribly...

Maybe this is why I love mooncups so much.

OsmosisBanana · 13/07/2008 20:44

'not' the reality

'turd' inspector

keyboard loose since it was 'fixed'

OsmosisBanana · 13/07/2008 20:46

Jesus Boco! Sounds like something out of a really vicious slightly updated version of Jane Eyre / Wutherin Heights.

I hid my periods. Until a Very Bad Accident. Shudder.

pinkspottywellies · 13/07/2008 20:46

DD was just making me laugh She isn't asleep yet (had been in her cot happily since 7 but just started whining) I went in to see her and she asked for songs, so I started singing twinkle twinkle and she said 'no. baa baa' so I strted singing baa baa black sheep. And she said 'nonono'. Every time I tried something else she said baa baa and every time I sang baa baa she said no. I was trying to hide my laughing behind the pillow! Then I had to go and get her bear from the car, and more milk but I think she's off now.
