For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yes, sometimes the Puppy thing works

Will try others. I always forget them.

Thank you, Toot.

TigerFeet · 23/06/2008 18:32

With dd a kind of reverse psychology works well, eg "I bet you can't walk nicely all the way to the park" or similar.

I have just been madly snurking and snorting at this thread wot Franny did do yonks ago

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 18:48

LOL where did you find that Tiger?
I had forgotten how funny everyone was

"is it a day on which you might be able to venture a bit of fish?" LOLOL
and zippi coming up with endless suggestions for all the different colours

Lully I have a nut roast recipe I really like & will post in a bit

have been to gym
am AWASH with endorphins
everyone should take spatone and go to the gym
I feel fab

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 23/06/2008 19:08

There was a link on the Best Ever Thread Titles thread. I hadn't seen it before - I literally spat on the screen.

Am much in need of Spatone I reckon - I had Too Much Wine on Saturday and I still feel overtired and shitty and run down today. Where did you get it from?

Not much longer now! [runs]

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:09

holland and barrett, or chemists

the title wasn't that funny? Confused

don't you start! at the gym 3 of the instructors were going "ooooh, you don't look pg from the back" LOL

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:10

but I guess spatone will only do things if your iron was maybe a bit low, you know

is your kiki not working? can you up the dose? [fervent Kiki worship]

OP posts:
UnderRated · 23/06/2008 19:10

What is Spatone? Will it Fix Everything? Is it better than Kiki? If I had to pick one, which should I pick?

Will try reverse psychology too, Tigerfeet.

TigerFeet · 23/06/2008 19:13

I think people were getting confused between funny titles and funny threads. Not that difficult a concept though is it . Nevertheless I am pleased as I would have never read it otherwise.

Haven't you had that baby yet?

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:14

pick Kiki
spatone is iron stuff - water with iron in

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:15

I have apparently not had it yet, no
I am of the opinion that I MAY mention it once or twice if I go into labour, or, in fact, give birth

it may slip my mind, of course

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 23/06/2008 19:17

I am Kiki-ing but I keep forgetting. When I remember I have lots. I am borderline anaemic anyway - I usually am not allowed to give blood but never bad enough for medical intervention. A nice iron supplement should sort me out. WWB recommended spatone to me once as iron tablets tend to make me feel ill. I shouldn't be spending any money atm though, I keep buying sandwiches from the work butty wagon and then wondering why I am skint.. I need to sort out packed lunches then I can afford to indulge in my supplement habit

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:19

oh yes you must have it then Tiger
I feel so shockingly better
it is £6 for a month's supply
(was going to put 'only' £6 but I know £6 is £6. better than kiki though )

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 23/06/2008 19:22

£6 isn't bad at all really. Less than I spend on butties in a week.

Right, must take dd to bed and eat.

We are having cauliflower cheese - yum

UnderRated · 23/06/2008 19:25

I am not in need of Spatone. Although I am still craving meat which is odd. More beans perhaps? Franny - did you pass this craving on to me? It has come on since you mentioned your desire for steak

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:26

I love cauliflower cheese, I keep wanting to have it

well am going to be annoying with yet more gushing about my fab day
ds went to gymnastics and did every little tiny bit of it, even the beginning of the warm up which is the bit he says he is most scared of
he also fell off the beam and hurt himself while I was next door at the gym (no, wait, this is good, honest) and cried for me and THEN CALMED DOWN WITHOUT THE TEACHER HAVING TO COME AND GET ME
which has been a huge issue recently as anyone taking him anywhere without me has had to bring him home if he hurts himself, as he gets inconsolable if I am not summoned
so that was brilliant

then we came home and had celebratory ice cream mondays
(strawberries, banana = 1.5)

and dp is making dinner

and I'm in my pyjamas [blissful sigh]

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:27

sorry UR
it's annoying isn't it
are you quite sure you don't need iron? someone said to me "your levels might be ok but your body might still WANT it"

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:29

Lully, I copied this from another thread for you:

Nut loaf (all quantities excitingly vague):

Cook onions and mushrooms until nicely browned. Can also add red pepper or in fact anything . Cook brown rice until tender. Mix with a good quantity (probably 1 part nuts to 2 parts rice and 1 part fried onion / mushrooms) of ground or chopped nuts and seeds (ground best for young children) - you can get ground almonds in the shops, while cashews, pumpkin and sunflower seeds grind up nicely in a coffee grinder or nut attachment on blender. Add a stock cube mixed with a few tbsp hot water to make a sort of sludge, tom puree, herbs, seasoning, soy sauce etc to taste. Put in loaf tin or oven dish and bake on about GM 5 for about 40 mins.

TooT's is probably nicer, this is just one I sort of made up

Franny that pollychrome thread was hilarious, I'd not seen it at the time, been lolling at it this afternoon, I didn't know it was you until the end either so that made it even funnier.

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:31

everyone was so funny on there it made it so easy to carry it on into the ever more surreal

OP posts:
Boco · 23/06/2008 19:33

Even after I saw it was you I was still dying to know why you couldn't eat fish. Why? Will you please make something up?

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 19:35

it is my private business and I will never, ever tell you

(she had had a childhood trauma but I cannot divulge the details on this family site, sorry)

Um, what can I bake with strawberries? Does anyone know how to make a pie? With or without rhubarb?

Good news re DS & gym, Franny

The meat craving is very odd - I was tempted to buy some the other day (ethically rasied & 'dealt with' lamb) but I realised I still have an aversion to it. Just like I wouldn't want to eat dog poo. It's very strange.
