For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Glad Lully survived the MIL. It all sounds very unpleasant.

I don't know how I feel about the "I Love you thing" - it's nice but a bit unsettling. I am not sure he knows me well enough to say that. I think he loves the idea of me. But what do I know? I (perhaps unwisely) explained to him why I couldn't say it back at the moment. He didn't seem upset and wanted to make plans for the next couple of weekends, so I guess it was ok.

daftpunk · 23/06/2008 14:15

oh underated thank you so much..

i have printed it off..i hope you timed the post to self destruct before she gets back!

LullyOfShallot · 23/06/2008 14:25

fmv..it was probably the best Mumsnet title thread
Cod was saying she LOATHED our titles

FrannyandZooey · 23/06/2008 14:45

I am worried about Lully's giant kidney bean
did you alert Norris McWhirter before eating it

Boco · 23/06/2008 14:55

I had some rocket.

I handed over the pictures today, the ones that have taken me sixth months. Hooray I feel all light and springy having finally finished.

Another bad night with dd and her coughing and wheezing which I think explains my very small red eyes.

So, am springing blindly into things.

Lololol Franny

Oh Poor Boco & poor dd
Will LL be able to help with website do you think?

Avi about cake
All my t shirts have billions of little holes in them & ds's lovely monsoon jumpers & cardigans were munched to shreds when I went to pass them on to somebody earlier this year

darned moths

Things are pretty crap
I am trying to find one Avenue of my life to focus on that is not hopeless, but apart from ds there really isn't one

Hey Ho
How are you-flat cakes & moths aside?

LullyOfShallot · 23/06/2008 15:32

UR..he sounds nice
& patient & understanding
& he goes strawberry picking

Does he have nice eyes & hands?
V important imho

LullyOfShallot · 23/06/2008 15:37

Moist nut loaf anyone?
I know I have asked before & you are all bored with nut loaf questions..but I cant make the darn things so they are edible.

Oh I need to have gone to town
Ds needs trainers or plimsolls for Wednesday for Tennis day
They are having coaching & strawberries & cream in the garden

Where can I get plimsolls?
Woolies?

TooTicky · 23/06/2008 16:14

What size plimsolls?

FoulOlRon · 23/06/2008 16:18

oh lully, sorry things are so dire... Well done for spotting/working out it was me BTW (must change back, I feel smelly in this guise and people back away from me on threads.... )

Boco, sorry dd is suffering again. Wish I could suggest something.

lol at list of 5 a day - I thought for a second someone was really having a mega F&V day and listing all they had eaten!

TooTicky · 23/06/2008 16:23

Lully, the Cranks nut loaf is good and so easy:

1 medium onion
1oz butter/margarine
8oz mixed nuts
4oz wholemeal bread
1/2 pint(300ml) veg stock or water
2 tsp yeast extract
herbs/salt/pepper

Chop onions and saute in butter/marge until transparent.
Grind nuts and bread together until quite fine.
Heat stock and yeast extract together to boiling point then combine all ingredients and mix well.
Turn into greased dish, level top, sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Bake at 180c/gas mark 4 until golden brown.

I love this but hardly ever make it as nobody else really eats it
Oh, and i don't have anything that grinds nuts now.

TooTicky · 23/06/2008 16:23

Foul person, WHO ARE YOU??????

filthymindedvixen · 23/06/2008 16:26

Tis a terry Pratchett character; you know sort of 'gentleman of the road' who drinks turps and shouts out random phrases like ''Buggrit. Millenium, hand and shrimp''

TooTicky · 23/06/2008 16:27

My grandmother is a TP fan. I haven't read any for years.

filthymindedvixen · 23/06/2008 16:35

Good on yer granny! DH is a huge fan and it has rubbbed off a little And now ds1 loves the books too.

UnderRated · 23/06/2008 17:09

Avi, I won't ask why you were examining your navel but ALL of my tshirts get tiny holes in that area and I can't work out why. If it's moths (and I never see any), why would they go for the same place in every top? I am wondering if it could be the way I carry DS. Or my belt? Sorry about the cake.

Lully, it is very hard to find something to focus on when everything seems crap. For a long time, I struggled with that. The only thing that was any good was DS and even then, he didn't seem thrilled with me. I wish I could say something comforting or helpful but anything I could say sounds a bit meaningless and cliched.

Man is nice. And has soft hands and smiling eyes. I think feeling happy & someone appreciating me and saying nice things is making me a bit unsettled - it's all new to me and I'm not sure how to deal with it. And get scared that it will all go wrong. And this has happened a bit fast and really it is still early days so I don't want to get carried away.

Woolies sell plimsols. That was my department when I worked there. Until I had a strop and demanded to be moved to pick & mix.

I can't do nut loaf but I am going to try that recipe.

UnderRated · 23/06/2008 17:10

That was long

Boco · 23/06/2008 17:12

Lully sorry that things are so hard, what area are you going to concentrate on do you think? Yes, LL helping - v.helpful and good rabbit.

UR this man sounds nice, I'm glad you're being appreciated, this is good news.

UnderRated · 23/06/2008 17:23

How does one deal with an almost 3 yr old who deliberately runs away when asked to come here? At home it's not a huge problem (although very irritating) but he does it when I pick him up from a babysitters or when we are out at the park or somewhere. Then, after futile attempts at praising, encouraging, cajoling, bribery, being cross, demands and threats , I resort to picking him up (because he refuses to walk) and he screams and yells and hits me. He is very angry with me I want my lovely little boy back.

TooTicky · 23/06/2008 18:21

UR, it is so hard when children do that. Am trying to put myself back to when mine have done this but failing miserably. Franny will be good and helpful. My brain feels like mashed potato.
Glad you have nice man

TooTicky · 23/06/2008 18:25

I think that if asking him to do things is a problem then finding ways of getting him to do things without asking. Um. Appealing to contrariness can help. Making it into something it isn't or looking at it in a fresh way. So maybe,
I'll race you to x
I bet you can't hop all the way here
Here doggy! (dd2 loves being a dog)
Quick, let's go and... (name next stage, just assume that he will come to you)
