For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

sorry to ask you again, Toot, but I am interested. Are you of the thought that verrucas are best left to follow their own course as treating pushes them further in causing other problems?

I have heard something like this about warts, that it's best to let the body do its job and
wondered if its the same for verrucas. In fact, are they they same thing?

Guadalupe · 25/06/2008 21:30

dd has developed a wart and I'm not sure whether to let it be

FrayedKnot · 25/06/2008 21:44

I have two verrucas and DS has 2 verrucas and I have been leaving them for a very long time and nothing seems to be happening. Mine have started to hurt.

I hate that Bazooka stuff though, you have to start picking at them every day don;t you

[nose wrinkling emoticon]

FMF that is an awful lot of stuff

How long 'til the summer hols?

Good news about the shoes Guad, what a relief!

I am abit headachey but looking forward to tomorrow as DS has his nursery trip to a local outdoor museum and so I have the day off and am going with them...better than a day in my office which is stressy atm.

Guadalupe · 25/06/2008 21:46

we don't pick at them, maybe that's what we're doing wrong!

I think ds's are sore, I feel bad about that. I remember mine really hurting on the sole of my foot when I had one years ago.

TigerFeet · 25/06/2008 21:46

MrsC I like that you are called Loopy, I call dd Loopy - it has caught on at nursery

Franny next Tuesday will be just dandy if you could manage it - I have the whole day off work and so could lurk on your labour thread all day.

Bloody hell FMF what are you superwoman?

Hope AviJr had a good time

Veg soup x 3, satsuma, lots of little plums, bolognese with much tomatoes, banana. I am struggling to eat much so little and often in order to combat flagging energy levels. Eating hurts though - but I am hungry [sob]

I am currently boiling up some chicken stock having roasted a chicken earlier. Will make chicken risotto for tea tomorrow (yum)

TooTicky · 25/06/2008 21:46

I think the Actual Advice is to leave them be these days. But yes, homeopathically you wouldn't put stuff on them. But mention to one's homeopath.
Some people swear by putting tea tree oil on them though.

Guadalupe · 25/06/2008 21:50

tea-tree oil? Is that because it's anit-fungal?

someone recommended putting duck tape on them on a thread the other day, they swore it worked.

tigerfeet - I don't mind loopy really, though of course, I am not loopy At All. I am perfectly sound of mind and character.

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2008 22:08

ds has one of those molluscum thingies, I think
one of his friends apparently has loads and I am pretty sure he has got one on his hand
I keep meaning to read about them - I think you are meant to prick them out or something to stimulate the body to get rid of them - but it's just a little tiny spot thing, so I have left it

OP posts:
Tatties · 25/06/2008 22:16

Molluscum I have experience of - yes you can kind of squeeze the middle out (like a spot) and that gets rid of it. Of course you might not want to do that to ds Franny, I think it is ok to leave them, but they are contageous.

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2008 22:19

ok just googled
I don't think he does have one
he has a funny hand spot though - it is tiny and mostly white and like a tiny litle hard pearl under the surface of the skin

I vaguely remember I used to get them? or something similar
also on my hands or lower arms

OP posts:
Tatties · 25/06/2008 22:21

It sounds like it could be from that description

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2008 22:22

does it? I looked on wiki and it shows pictures of protruding pink lumps
this is tiny and white

OP posts:
Boco · 25/06/2008 22:43

dd2 has molluscum on one arm crease. They are tiny and white. I squeezed one and she screamed 'you said you would only look but you squeezed all my blood out!!' and had general hysterics and demanded a bandage and a special cushion to rest her arm on in bed. Dp said i was an evil mother.

I have been scanning pictures for Lapin as she's helping make a website.

TooTicky · 25/06/2008 22:53

There was a Tatties-a-like at toddler group today. I think I kept giving her v. friendly smiles and she smiled back at me very Tattiesily.

Tatties · 25/06/2008 22:57

IME, yes the white hard bit sounds like it Franny.

Boco that's what I'd have done too [evil mother]

TooT

TooTicky · 25/06/2008 23:01

It was a little perturbing though because she had a tattoo, which I thought was maybe unlike you. But I could be wrong.....

Tatties · 25/06/2008 23:09

Tatties has no tattoos

TooTicky · 25/06/2008 23:21

As I thought

UnderRated · 26/06/2008 00:43

FMF, that all sounds very overwhelming

I agree, next Tuesday would best

Where's Zippi?

Pak Choi, onion, banana, grapes (x2) 5

UnderRated · 26/06/2008 03:50

Gentle reminder for OB: Do you have the pie recipe? Pretty please?

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2008 07:49

well what is this picture of then? Because ds's hand spot doesn't look anything like this

and I couldn't squeeze it with my hand, I don't think - I would need a pin or something

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2008 07:51

melon, raspberries, strawberries, raisins
however all taste like cardboard as ds has already started being so rude and I am so cross with him

OP posts:
womblingalong · 26/06/2008 08:25

Sympathies Franny,

DD has gone to nursery, but she has been a handful this morning and last night too,

When I had DS, DD was very cross and played up a lot with me for about 2 months, I just let her get on with it, and tried to have as much 1 on 1 with her as I could, but it wasn't easy, I was felt cross/upset for her, and felt torn away from DS at the same time. Was difficult, sorry.

First Brekkie since Monday: strawbeeries, pineapple, passionfruit, raisins. Feeling a bit better, but exhausted as DS has not really slept properly for about 3 nights.

stuffitllama · 26/06/2008 08:34

morning
yes where is zippi, did she not come back from her london weekend?
oh it is tough, one to two, and it's so hard to know what's going on in their heads (even when they are so vocal as mine were most exhaustingly)
i've only come to say hello, haven't eaten yet
coffee

filthymindedbolshevixen · 26/06/2008 08:46

morning lovelies....

I keep singing that Finding Nemo thing ''just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...'' to myself

TooT - I eat particularly well on weds nights as DH goes out so I can eat what I like! I find a giant scromlette stuffed with good things and a large salad gets my 10 in one meal

I actually sat down and did 20 mins meditation/breathing last night for the first time in years. Actually I had forgotton how nice it is to sit and do/think nothing
There is some very good meditation music on you tube I discovered...

Another full-on day today (sigh)
