Steve died at 10.30 in Jo's arms where he belonged.

I have spoken to her & she asked me to let you all know. Her dear friend Tracey is with her.

God he put up a good fight & I for one feel honored to have known him & his family.

not a bad day today, i took the kids shopping to choose clothes for the funeral. Elliot said very loudly this will be just right to wear for dads funeral, he insisted on buying me a neckalace as a funeral gift and asked who is going to help him to buy me a mothers day pressie and other pressies i told him that tracey had sorted mothers day this year and she would help him every year, he is so thoughtful and kind,
thankyou for all the cards i have had as i have had a few from mumsnetters.

Hi Jo,
I remember taking Matthews friend clothes shopping for something to wear at Matthews funeral, she was only 13 bless her, she ended up though helping me! I am thinking of you all, and esp the kids tomorrow on fathers day, how very hard for them, though I know you had an early celebration. I will go to the cemetery tomorrow to take my Dad flowers, I was 48 when he died, but how I wish I had him longer. Have a lovley lunch out tomorrow, you deserve it. xxx

best friends are worth their weight in gold !

TheMadHouse · 14/06/2008 22:41

OJ, take each day as it comes.

You are so right to cherrish your feinds they are worth their weight in gold.

Your children are a great reflection of your love for Steve and his for you.

As someone whos father is no longer with them, i think about him often and I do so with joy and happiness and not just sadneess and loss.

In fact me and my mum were discussing how much my DS2 looks like his grandad and instead of making her cry it made her smile

mummylin2495 · 14/06/2008 22:46

her tears are healing for her oj and a way of expressing how she is feeling ,what a lot for them and you to have coped with.

Seashell71 · 14/06/2008 22:55

what a sweet boy Elliot is. I suppose it gives him comfort to know that Tracy will help him in the future to choose Mother's day pressies.

OJ, tomorrow will be a hard day but you have your fantastic friend/s with you and your children. Hope you don't mind me saying this but it's also a special day to honour Steve's memory and celebrate his life and the fact that your lives interwined.
Some soulmates never meet, you two were lucky to meet.

I'm crap with words but you get the idea xxx
