Steve died at 10.30 in Jo's arms where he belonged.

I have spoken to her & she asked me to let you all know. Her dear friend Tracey is with her.

God he put up a good fight & I for one feel honored to have known him & his family.

hi OJ, I just wanted to check in and let you know I have been thinking of you all.
I have missed the 'trifle' joke but if there is any left I'll join in!
Really pleased that the funeral arrangements are coming together and that Steve will get the send off he planned. I would say from all your posts about the ILs that it must be a relief for you not to speak to BIL after the funeral, but so unfair on the children. The man ,is obviously heartless.
God bless you.

Hi OJ & MN'ers
This is my first post and one that I feel proud to be typing. I am Jo's friend Tracey and I want to say how truly wonderful it is for Jo to have received all of your posts at this very sad time. I was at Jo's house on monday night and was amazed when she showed me the hundreds of posts already made. I know each post has and will continue to be a great support to her. To read so many wonderful, touching and kind words from so many people help provide comfort.
To OJ, my best mate, you are the most inspirational and amazing person I have ever met. From our first meeting till today you have given me so much and helped shape the person I am today. You know how much I adore you and the kids and that every step I am with you. I am so proud to have been part of Steves life and you two truly are "soulmates".xx

triplets · 13/06/2008 23:31

You sound a lovely friend Tracy, we on here all feel humbled by having been a part of Steves journey through his life. Jo is an amazing lady, we have each of us I am sure laughed and cried at her posts. I pray now that she will go forward with the children as Steve would have wanted her to do, life will change again for them all, but I hope it brings her sunshine and happiness and no more tears. xx

Tracey, that was so moving and heartfelt it brought a tear. I've followed OJ's thread for a while as a lurker and don't know what to say except that I wish the family peace now and hope that they receive a lot of comfort from mumsnet and their friends. xxx Bless you.

hazygirl · 14/06/2008 05:40

oj big hugs to you,and your lovely familyx

stickyj · 14/06/2008 06:16

Morning OJ, just sending love to you al xxx

Buda · 14/06/2008 06:40

Morning OJ.

Tracey - your post brought tears to my eyes too. You sound like a fab friend. For all of us MNers who have been following Jo and Steve's journey knowing that Jo has a real person to lean on is great. We can and will offer lots of on-line and some practical support but a friend who is there physically is so much more important. Although we are 'here' we can't give physical hugs and mop up tears.

Oh - word of warning. This place is a bit like Hotel California - once you check in you can never leave! Hope Jo has warned you of that!

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 14/06/2008 07:07

Morning OJ and welcome MumtoFour

I echo what Buda has said, it is a great comfort to know that OJ is not on her own with those loons.

Right who has been at the trifle, I was keeping for Wednesday ??

mistypeaks · 14/06/2008 10:27

OJ - I am so glad you've got Tracey with you. It just shows how special you are as other special people just seem to gravitate towards you.

fortyplus · 14/06/2008 11:14

Hi mumtofour aka Tracey!

You have been a wonderful support to oj. I have to say that 'soulmate' truly sums up Jo's and Steve's relationship from what I can tell in our cyberspace friendship. And I do have to smirk slightly when I think how much it's going to wind up the witch!

Bless you all.

ps If you get oj to show you my profile pic on fb you can see me and my best mate pretending to be very fed up shut in the stocks!

mumtofour · 14/06/2008 11:48

morning

Thanks to you all for your warm welcome.

Buda thanks for your kind words and I will gladly pass on any hugs to Jo. I think for Jo we all play such an important role and I have seen the effects your guys support has on Jo. When a card arrives, a surprise parcel, shopping deliveries or reading your posts they all bring love, support and friendship.

I would be honoured to stay at Hotel California!

My sentiments exactly fortyplus Jo and Steve are true soulmates. And as for the witch well she can feel as wound up as she likes coz the plans are a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man and reflect the love he shared with Jo.

trulymadlydeeply · 14/06/2008 11:49

Welcome, Mumtofour. So glad you made it onto Mumsnet. You are a fabulous friend to OJ and have been a rock in her dark times. I was always glad to know that she had someone in RL to lean on. Thank you.

Morning OJ, lovely. I hope you have a nice weekend and I'm still thinking of you and sending lots of love and strength, even though I'm posting less.

Lots of love,

XXX
