Steve died at 10.30 in Jo's arms where he belonged.

I have spoken to her & she asked me to let you all know. Her dear friend Tracey is with her.

God he put up a good fight & I for one feel honored to have known him & his family.

OJ, we're all thinking of you so much. I know that even when someone is terminally ill, the death is still so unexpected. I hope that sometime you find peace in the knowledge that you gave him dignity, love and peace in his last days.

Just got back from a conference and the first thing I did was check for you and Steve, OJ.
I am so sorry to hear he's gone but I knew he wouldn't go on the girls' birthday - I just knew it. Men like Steve never let anyone down and even at the end he was a shining example to Dads everywhere.

OJ you (we) knew it would come but nothing every truly prepares you (us) for when it actually arrives. A shock still. It will likely have been a strange and busy day for you. Surreal. Thinking of you and sending love from Edinburgh xxxxxx.

You have borne what no partner should, with courage and dignity, and I feel privileged that you have shared Steve's story.
