Steve died at 10.30 in Jo's arms where he belonged.

I have spoken to her & she asked me to let you all know. Her dear friend Tracey is with her.

God he put up a good fight & I for one feel honored to have known him & his family.

I'm hugely sorry OJ, I have stayed away from your threads in the main as I have never been in your situation, and wouldn't add anything useful to the support you get of better people than me, but I have followed what has been happening, and I am sad for you.

I hope you find some peace in your heart soon.

Safe journey Steve.

Much love to you all OJ, a week or so ago a thread was started where we were holding your hand. We are still here holding your hand (if not squeezing it that much tighter) and won't let go until you are ready to let go xx

RIP Steve,

Jo, you have been so strong and brave and a truely loving wife.
Steve could not have asked for a better person to spend his life with. You were there with him when he needed you and stayed right through to the end.
He will remain a very important part of your life forever even if he is no longer here with you in person.

duellingfanjos · 09/06/2008 18:56

iamdingdong · 09/06/2008 19:00

I'm so sorry for your loss OJ, but glad the suffering is finally over for Steve and the rest of you. You have been an absolute rock and inspiration to anyone who should ever find themself in the same situation, I admire your strength and courage x

laundrylover · 09/06/2008 19:00

OJ, I'm another who's been following your family over the last few weeks but never posted. If sympathies from a stranger help then I'll send them by the bucketful.....if not sympathy then can I pass on my admiration of you and Steve for making his passing such an honourable occasion and for remaining so strong as a family. Steve will stay with you all in so many ways.

LL
