Steve died at 10.30 in Jo's arms where he belonged.

I have spoken to her & she asked me to let you all know. Her dear friend Tracey is with her.

God he put up a good fight & I for one feel honored to have known him & his family.

i have no words that will make a difference.

you and your family are in my thoughts xxx

Rhubarb · 09/06/2008 17:27

Oh heck! No comparison I know, but when my gran was dying, she was suffering immensely towards the end and when she finally went it was such a huge relief, that she was no longer suffering and that we weren't having to watch her suffer.

No life is ever ever in vain. Steve's memory will live on in his children, in all those people he knew, whose lives and outlook on life have been changed by knowing him. His spirit will live on in those people, and in you OJ. He changed lives, melted hearts, brought some people together and changed other people's way of thinking. His spirit will always be there.

Take care xxx

Lovely words BandofMothers so have added it to this new page.

He fought the good fight, tho he could not win,
His family sent OJ running for the gin,
Struggling on for his children and wife,
He held on so tight to his dwindling life.

Now he's at peace, struggling no longer,
This pain in her soul will make OJ stronger.
Blessings for all of you left behind,
Look now to the memories in your heart and mind.

I don't know you but I am aware of what has happened and have seen the various threads on here. I have never contributed because I didn't feel I knew enough about the situation and felt it might be inappropriate somehow.

However I would like to add my name now to the list of Mumsnetters who are thinking of you, wishing peace to your brave and loving husband now at rest, and strength and future happiness to you and your children, who can never be in any doubt as to how their father felt about them.

May your husband rest in peace.

ManhattanMama · 09/06/2008 17:42
