For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

yes and the name of the plumber was 'Mr Tesco'

lionheart · 10/06/2008 18:17

Late unaccountable craving for something very expensive?

alarkaspree · 10/06/2008 18:17

Franny I am quite an extravagant shopper but I can't quite imagine how you spent £70 on fruit and bread. Did your mum sneak champagne into your sundries bag?

Today I have eaten raisins, pear, carrots, mushrooms, courgettes, apple. Six so far. I am hopeful of making it to 10.

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 18:17

in future use cash for all purchases

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 18:17

and wtf are you doing shopping in TESCO how un 10/10

lionheart · 10/06/2008 18:18

Was it really only fruit and bread?

FrannyandZooey · 10/06/2008 18:19

I don't know how I did it
I will get the receipt out later
dp has just come in and said "well of course it is ok"
we woke up 'early' this morning long before ds was likely to come in and it seems to have put him in a v good mood

FrannyandZooey · 10/06/2008 18:20

one bag fruit
one bag bakery products
the bags are big poncey hemp things
I was a bit taken aback myself, but it keeps happening when I do the shopping

FrannyandZooey · 10/06/2008 18:26

dammit I showed him the receipt and he homed right in on the princess hat
really, some people, you would think I had been frittering our money away or something

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 18:27

then you can lie be imaginative when you explain how it was used for benefit of household

FrannyandZooey · 10/06/2008 18:32

I think he likes the hat now
he didn't realise it would be so pink and pointy and sequinned, probably

Guadalupe · 10/06/2008 18:34

Avi - have you seen my fairy thread, I am sure you will err on the side of no lies. Actually that has been the consensus, which considerinig the christmas threads is quite surprising.

Franny - I do that all the time, it came to crunch point the other day, the bill was so absurd that we decided action must be taken. Tesco's it is. The checkout boy said bloody hell, thats more than I amke in a month, which frakly, I thought was a bit rude and also seen as he is probably a saturday boy means diddly squat when feeding a family of five but still, he thought fit to mention it to dh who thought it most fit to mention to me.

I wasn't there at that point see, when, it comes to paying I develop an urge to peruse the magazines.

fullmoonfiend · 10/06/2008 18:42

ah well if they are those big hempy bags, I can fit almost a week's shopping in 3, so is fine...

Guadalupe · 10/06/2008 18:43

yes, those bags are HUGE

FrannyandZooey · 10/06/2008 18:44

yes? really fmf? but I am pretty sure this is nowhere near a week's shopping

Guadalupe · 10/06/2008 18:54

when some one gives you a good tip to downfood, then let me know. I am atrocious and I like my treats.

TheMangoWhoKnewTooMuch · 10/06/2008 19:32

I bought a £15 jar of Manuka honey from the HF shop and forgot to take the label off and DH found it.

I will never be able to live it down.

The thing is it lasts for aaaaaages. And is medicinal. And I get free prescriptions so never need to spend on medicine otehrwise.

I think..

4th July, boy, 8lb 10.

This will be more than likely because on that date I will be out all day and evening too, and miss the news.

apomegranate, doesn't stuff like this make you feel all shimmery?

Guadalupe · 10/06/2008 20:30

sorry, I should have linked it.

I do remember the beliefs though, maybe that make a difference. I definitely thought fairies would use the fairy cornflakes that I made from daisies with the petals pulled off.
