For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I didn't mean to shout. I keep doing it - I'm skiving at work and the thing I have to pretend to be doing when someone looms near involves caps lock.

Tatties · 10/06/2008 12:44

LOL

IdrisTheDragon · 10/06/2008 12:46

I predict 8th July, 8lb 5oz, girl. Born at 2.47pm at home

IdrisTheDragon · 10/06/2008 12:47

DD has appeared and asked me to write Alice. And do some smiles

fullmoonfiend · 10/06/2008 12:48

Toot, no immediate hurry,. I want to bake a cake for the nice couple at our moorings who let us in, when really there were no vacancies...
I know they are vefggie with vegan leanings, so thought I'd err on side of caution.

OsmosisBanana · 10/06/2008 12:49

Why has no-one noticed my heroic battle with the garden??? I have decided to carpet it. Much easier. Then it will be a bit like a conservatory. Without a roof.

TigerFeet · 10/06/2008 13:08

Will there be wicker furniture OB? Compulsory in a conservatory imvho

OsmosisBanana · 10/06/2008 13:12

yES, LOTS OF IT. And spider plants as far as the eye can see.

lionheart · 10/06/2008 13:29

I am getting a conservatory but no wickerman furnishings.

Talk some more about babies--my baby is 3 on Sunday and I have just taken his pushchair down to the charity shop.

I had to psyche myself up for days to do it.

lionheart · 10/06/2008 13:33

What are you doing to your garden OB?

I have had an apple.

OsmosisBanana · 10/06/2008 13:39

We aren't doing a great deal at the mo as we are saving to hire a digger to rip the whole lot out and start again with the help of a landscape thingy friend.

BUT in the meantime I am trying to conquer the jungle just to make it look a bit tidier.

Our neighbours are elderly, the fence has fallen down. Thus the whole 2 gardens worth is covered in bind weed, goose grass, wheat and other delights as our garden backs onto the allotments. It took me 4 hours to clear a space 4ft by 1.5 foot of bindweed etc.

Tonight I am going to do business with the strimmer. I have never done this and am horribly over excited. Am going to have to borrow DH's tree surgeon face guard to avoid scattering dog turd in face. Can't wait.

lionheart · 10/06/2008 13:42

It sounds like my garden too. We are going to get the heavies and then the landscape people in as well.

It takes forever to pluck at weeds and cut little bits of bush down.

OsmosisBanana · 10/06/2008 13:48

V therapeutic though. And a great way to avoid the housework!

DH will not be able to scowl disapprovingly at the mess all over the house (including my aborted efforts at putting up shelves in SD's room) when he sees the efforts in the 4" x 1.5" patch.

lionheart · 10/06/2008 13:52

Yes, v. therapeutic indeed.

Erm, I am taking the three wheeler to the charity place tomorrow but keeping the Maclaran thing.

I need one.

OsmosisBanana · 10/06/2008 14:55

hOW OLD ARE YOUY NIPPERS

TigerFeet · 10/06/2008 15:01

My dd is 4 in a couple of weeks - we no longer use the buggy but I haven't got rid of it yet. No idea why - it's a wreck and was horrible to drive anyway so we wouldn't use it again even if we were to have another. So why is it still cluttering the shed up? [sap]

OsmosisBanana · 10/06/2008 15:16

I have DD's first pram in the shed too. It has garden twine embedded so firmly in its wheels you actually can't push it. FFS.

I am going to take it to the dump tomoz.

stuffedaubergine · 10/06/2008 15:59

i've been having an argument
i have an excuse, i'm bored of cleaning and my husband is away and i need something to chafe against

everyone is very homey today

lionheart · 10/06/2008 16:00

No, no, not the dump. You need to weed the prams and then turn them into go-karts.

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 16:02

hi not read the thread as defeated by volume of posts but you people might be entertained by the pics of my shop i have put on my rpofile for bunting cup cake poncetasticness

TooTicky · 10/06/2008 16:02

And my baby will be 3 on 1st July
Am in the propcess of trying to get hold of a (cheap) second hand tricycle.

OB, we have lived here for 7 years and still haven't quite conquered the bindweed, but I have had two pregnancies in that time.

TooTicky · 10/06/2008 16:05

Ooh it looks like one of those desperately interesting shops that you co0uld spend ages in

lionheart · 10/06/2008 16:09

There is a nudy diving man, too, zippi. He is lovely.
