I haven't known what to say over the last week and thought it best not to say anything until I did! I still don't know, but, couldn't let today pass without sending love and hugs to you all. I have no trifle or bubbles in the house but will raise a cuppa at 11.00am and say a prayer for Steve and you all.
Your posts have filled my eyes with tears and my heart with sadness yet at the same time filled me with joy in the love you shared together as a family. Steve was so lucky to have a family like you all and a wife who is just the most amazing lady. And by all accounts you were equally as lucky to have Steve. Thinking of you all, Love PF xx

You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Wishing you love today, hard as it is try to think of today as a celebration of what you had, not what you have lost. He will live forever in your childrens eyes and your own heart.

I have a chocolate trifle waiting in the fridge.

xx

Praying for you all this morning, that the funeral is a calm, dignified, respectful time to honour Steve and remember his life with you.
Your story has made me cry, laugh, feel frustration, feel blessed, and feel angry (at the injustice of death and in the actions of Steve's family). You are an amazing woman, with a beautiful family, a testament and tribute to Steve.
God bless you all.

We're off out into the garden to blow bubbles for you all.

Well done sm I was looking for that one & couldn't remember exactly how it went-beautiful, thanks.

Sadly I will no be able to get there as planned for 11 am

But I have bubbles ready & trifle later.

I spoke to Jo earllier & she is was just getting ready to leave. Her "real" family the children & her dear friends are with her & will escort her in the car & throughout the day.

All the professionals involved have asked if they can attend. The Mac nurses, the District Nurses, the carers and the Social workers & hospice staff. This reflects everything we know & feel about Jo & her children & the love they have for each other & Steve & will continue to have. So Jo has an army of love around her & the virtual MN army in thought like a shield of love & protection

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/06/2008 11:00

Much love to you all today OJ xx

Buda · 18/06/2008 11:00

Have re-lit my candle, said a prayer and shed a tear. Sleep peacefully Steve - you touched many hearts.

Jo - wishing you and the children strength and love as you say goodbye to your beloved Steve.

xx

Merlin · 18/06/2008 11:02
