For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I htought it was dull as dishwater too.

Maybe there are 2 different sayings

Dd2 is growing either a pumpkin or a squash. How big does th epot need to be????
HELP!!!

My hayfever has arrived.
After a week of thinking it wasn't coming, I am sneezing and snivelling.

TooTicky · 09/05/2008 13:48

Doesn't have to be a big pot to start with LittleRach. Will you be putting it in the garden when it's grown a bit? If not, you will need an enormous pot.

Idris, thanks for marzipan offer - problem is, I need it for tomorrow so will probably have to just bluster through somehow.

Tigerfeet - ouch. Glad you still had the other car. We live somewhere rural and it really does help to have a car.

Took ds2 back to hosp this morning - we have to go back next week apparently he will have an ultrasound, so they can see the back of his eye. If he can't manage this, will be another GA.

BBBee · 09/05/2008 13:50

in relation to boco's post I always thought it was tender hooks rather than tenter hooks.

TooTicky · 09/05/2008 13:50

OB, I like the idea of your Birkenstocks counting towards veg intake. It is quaint but unfeasible

Hello Bee, will look at your thread later, promise

MrsC - oh, MrsC! Oh yes. I have to do something very quicjkly.

OsmosisBanana · 09/05/2008 13:52

Poop.

stuffitall · 09/05/2008 14:10

hello all, hello Mrs C, and BBeee
have i said strawberries yet
anyway strawberries, broccoli, carrots

OB unfeasible re Birks but amazing sex is your exercise no?
though sounds like it was fantasisingly longer than ten minutes

impressed by breastfeeders, and also by how attentively you must regulate your diet
it never occurred to me to go on for longer than babe in arms (8 mths or so) but had I wanted to, the irregular sleep and forgetful eating would have finished it anyway

it's amazing and wonderful you can continue for so long despite occasional chewed feelings

OsmosisBanana · 09/05/2008 14:44

amazing yes, timeconsuming no

TigerFeet · 09/05/2008 14:56

swoon @ birkies

couscous with a few bits and bats in but not more than a couple of portions I suspect
fruit salad of mango, pineapple and melon

cyteen · 09/05/2008 15:51

Yesterday: banana, strawberries, grapes, butternut squash (in risotto), salad (lettuce, red pepper, tomato, cucumber), spuds, corn on the cob.

Today (so far): apple, more salad as above but with avocado in as well. Am making proper burgers and potato wedges for tea (well, it is Friday) and will be eating more strawberries and grapes later on.

I'm sure none of you want to hear this, but since participating in this thread my constipation issues have been fully resolved! [triumphant]

FrannyandZooey · 09/05/2008 16:53

Cyteen I DID want to hear that
I am always on the lookout for cheerful bottom news
I must tell you something funny while you are here
I ordered a couple of maternity tops from Vertbaudet yesterday and while on their website I saw this insane pair of orange maternity pedal pushers
I thought they were extremely entertaining and was half meaning to start a thread saying "look at THESE!!!!"
then I went on the what are you wearing thread and there you were! wearing orange pedal pushers! ha ha ha ha ha I like your style girl

coo my feet hurt

one of Mrs C's vouchers has gone astray am on the case
it is the food related one but I don't want to give it away before she gets it

we are having pasta with bolognese (onions, mushrooms, tomatoes) and lots of veg
will report back on what

oh and will do photo later yes yes
100 here you go, my thighs

OP posts:
TooTicky · 09/05/2008 17:02

Great news Cyteen - keep on pooing

Franny I am worried about your thighs. They appear to have raisins embedded in them.

FrannyandZooey · 09/05/2008 17:09

I have a lot of moles beauty spots, ok?

OP posts:
TooTicky · 09/05/2008 17:11

Dd2 has just asked me for, "Milk. From ya nipples". With a cheeky grin.

cyteen · 09/05/2008 17:53

Franny, I am cackling at your honest appraisal of my 'fashion' sense Even worse, the ones I was wearing aren't even maternity trews - I'm just squeezing my bump into my usual clothes because I am so unbelievably cheap a bit poor at the moment.

FrannyandZooey · 09/05/2008 18:14

oh wahoo am even more jealous now
I was thinking when I saw them "JESUS I would look the PITS in those" but I did know at the back of my mind that someone younger and slimmer would look fab

I love orange

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/05/2008 18:15

what size are you btw? I might have a couple of bits you could use, that I bought and never liked / fitted into

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 09/05/2008 18:17

Evening ladies. I have to admit I always wince slightly at everyone's bottom news But am always delighted, of course, to hear good bottom news and when it's not so good.

Boco your post on BBB's thread made me laugh so hard I spat on the screen I'm quite sure it's left you with no lasting issues though.

MrsC I guess it might be best to at least try to cut down breastfeeding rather than giving up completely. If it doesn't work for you/ds then you can think about stopping but it would be much harder to go back if you stop first. If that makes sense!

Dreadful day foodwise. I had 2 slices of white toast, about 5 mini pasties (on offer in tesco), and fish, chips and mushy peas from the chippy. [rubbish]

Oh god it looks even worse written down! In my defence I'm tired, I'm on my period and I've been working which has really thrown our 'routine' (such as it is!).

Going to a wedding tomorrow so probably won't be very impressive tomorrow either.

What can we eat on Sunday for the Turkish Grand Prix? I did kebabs last year.

I think I need you all to boot camp me next week. And I'll need stickers!

TooTicky · 09/05/2008 18:23

Stickers at boot camp? Sharp sticks more like.

BBBee · 09/05/2008 18:36

oh pink - and you queried your place near the bottom of the list.

Have you seen what tigerfeet ate? I quote "couscous with a few bits and bats in" bats WTF - is this some 10/10 weirdness you made up in my absence - is it an ozzy osbourne thing?

perverts.

TooTicky · 09/05/2008 18:40

Oh yes, I wondered about the bats. They are protected by UK law [stern]

zippitippitoes · 09/05/2008 18:41
