For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

zippitippitoes · 29/04/2008 22:16

i didnt have a soft toy or anything i left that bit to my imagination

MrsCarrot · 29/04/2008 22:18

Me too, I found my mind saying that sentence over and over like a little mantra, 'the perineum bulged and the labia parted and the little head popped out', as if one was peeling a lychee.

I couldn't sleep last night and I found myself thinking that I didn't want to be reciting labia and perineum at 3am so I got up and had a flapjack.

zippitippitoes · 29/04/2008 22:21

franny and toot i still havent sent you things but i am going to

i keep reading a thread title as

MASSIVE DRESSING GOWN

MrsCarrot · 29/04/2008 22:22

lol, zippi, that is the ghastly bf abuse one isn't it?

My dressing gown is massive, I might change to my summer one.

Boco · 29/04/2008 22:23

Me too zippi!!

I thought it was about someone who has a massive dressing gown for not breastfeeding in public. And I thought that sounds a bit restrictive, always having to feed in a massive dressing gown, and is that why are her cheeks burning. But then I read it and understood.

IdrisTheDragon · 29/04/2008 22:28

Have I just managed to block out dressing gown thread?

zippitippitoes · 29/04/2008 22:32

night night avi i have been distracterd by football

is your back any better

ahundredtimes · 29/04/2008 23:19

Golly TooT, that sounds like a trip. I've been watching football too and just logged on to see if there was news of you.

Did they give you any kind of indication of what his vision would be like? If you do a thread, I'm sure you will find lots of people with supportive stories.

Hope you are all okay now, and sleeping soundly. How nice to be home.

When ds1 was about 3 he and I spent a night in a hotel in Corsica. And he was put in a wire cot, and I was put on a chair. I ended up sleeping in the wire cot too.

Also, dd has a wobbly tooth, her first one. And she was triumphantly pleased, and I had a rather unAnne like moment, and felt all sad about it. Silly really.

ahundredtimes · 29/04/2008 23:20

Oh fgs, in a HOSPITAL in Corsica. Not a hotel, sadly.

UnderRated · 30/04/2008 00:47

100, I have visions of you sleeping in a cot now. How horrible to have DC in hospitals

Zippi, you make me larf!

F&V: V poor - but a few tastes of pineapple, spinach, tomatoes, onion, aubergine. Nowhere near a whole portion of each though I'm just not very hungry.

FrannyandZooey · 30/04/2008 07:52

huge bowl of melon, strawberries, raspberries, raisins

thanks Avi you were right, I shall book it

erm about how I got to borrowing someone's sanpro
I asked a question about them on another thread and this being MN of course some kind soul popped up and said "you can borrow mine"

zippi we are allowed to embrace and celebrate and all that and still have been brainwashed into going eeeeeek by our upbringing
I wasn't brought up to weave the lentils, oh nonononono
it has been a long hard path to the ways of the bonkers righteous

Oh god nor me, I was brought up in the most unlentilly way imaginable, all ford escorts and deep fried turkey dinosaurs and nisa peas as a token vegetable.

I got a paper round when I was eleven and by twelve I was regularly buying orange juice, brown bread and houmous from Sainsburies down the track, so maybe some lentilliness is innate.

MrsCarrot · 30/04/2008 08:27

I beg your pardon, one huuuge mango, perfectly ripe with bluberries and strawberries and iwi and banana and passion fruit with a few oats and some yoghurt.

MrsCarrot · 30/04/2008 08:27

KKKKKKKKKKKKiwi

Fullmoonfiend · 30/04/2008 08:38

MMMMMMMMMMmeeee too!

MrsCarrot · 30/04/2008 08:47

That HERS thing is back on my thread again, I don't know how to respond to it really.

my mum used to try and get me to eat brown bread. she was also fond of 'free' food blackberries, made her own wine out of anything, wierd slaads with dandelions etc. But at the same time, I also remember Saturday nights and those vile Vesta curries....

It is a source of great amusement to her that I now make my children eat brown bread...as when they visit her they get white cotton wool bread!

MrsCarrot · 30/04/2008 09:37

I am going to meet the surgeon, nurses, phlebotty blood people and the anesthetist in a bit. I have a sort of cartoon image of him brandishing a scalpel and a pot for my parts!

I am also having a naturally decaffeinated coffee and it is very nice.

Toot - how is ds2 today?
