For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

there is a crumb under my K

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 20:49

I have got two really trivial questions

  1. would you have your eyelashes and eyebrows tinted while pg? (I mean, if you wanted to, that is)

and

  1. would you borrow and use someone else's cloth san pro?

((((((((((TooT)))))))))) Big big hug. Did you find all the kisses we left lying around? You and ds2 have been sooooo brave. Did you get stickers or badges? If not we must send you some!

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 20:52

oh and I have some news, especially for 100 and Bee

remember my friend's dc that I was concerned about? The school has just flagged it up that they think dc is on the spectrum, and my friend says she already kind of suspected it

am relieved it has not gone unnoticed, but feel for my friend

it's reminding me of what Greeny is going through also

Answers to trivial questions

  1. yes if it was at a good salon and they advise that it's ok.

  2. yes if you give it a boil wash first

pinkspottywellies · 29/04/2008 20:55

Oh good Franny, I rememeber when you were worrying about your friend. Glad it's starting to be looked into.

ladywombling · 29/04/2008 20:57

TooT, you star you, sounds horrendous, you are brave coping with both of them in hospital, you must be shattered.

DS1 must be feeling awful, and poor DS2, how is he coping with it all?

Franny:

  1. yes
  1. not sure what you mean?
FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 20:58

yes you can wash them at 60 deg apparently, not boil them
I thought the same, it's psychological partly isn't it?

I think the salon said it is ok

yes I am glad about the dc and hope this is the start of support that is needed
have guilty kind of feeling that part of the gladness is "aHA I knew I was right"
I am VERY relieved actually because in my big headed daftness I thought I was the only person who had noticed anything
it was never spoken about

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 20:59

oh sorry the cloth san pro thing is like cloth sanitary towels that fit around your knickers - you then wash them in washing machine
it's along the same lines as cloth nappies (which have great resale value and get covered in poo after all)
I think most people are more squeamish about menstrual blood than poo though, me included apparently

lol ladies, how do you manage to keep it going with the thread titles? they always make me smile, and then I'm humming the blardy song all day, every time I log on

ladywombling · 29/04/2008 21:05

Thanks Daisycal,

I's all the veggies I think, that one is courtesy of the lovely FullMoonFiend, with a nod to Ian Dury et al.

Aaaahhh Franny,

Sorry, brain not in gear, too tired and grumpy, yes I get it now . I would say yes too, as you are right aboout cloth nappies, although I did have to check my initial reaction - lol!

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 21:07

here's an example wombling - scroll down to see the fancy brocade ones

Daisy I lock them up without food and water until they produce great titles for me

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 21:09

I have not done v well on f+v today, since breakfast
some orange juice, a puny amount of salad

I went to the gym, and couldn't do any lower body stuff at all, just too sore
did upper body weights and came home

lol F&Z

One day I shall join this thread......when DH gets fed up of us having the best fed compost bin in all of yorkshire

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2008 21:10

Daisy you were rather sandwiched in there

IdrisTheDragon · 29/04/2008 21:14

Franny, I don't think I'd have a problem with using someone else's cloth sanitary towels. I think I might feel a bit weird knowing the person I was borrowing them from, or who was borrowing mine, but not sure why.

I had no problems with reusing and reselling cloth nappies.

IdrisTheDragon · 29/04/2008 21:15

TooT, you sound very brilliant. Poor DS2 and DS1 .

zippitippitoes · 29/04/2008 22:02

well i wouldnt wear someone elses knickers or san pro

yuk

and i thought you forward moving folk were supposed to joyfukly embrace menstrual blood in the spirit of feminism

FrayedKnot · 29/04/2008 22:04

Oh TooT, your poor DS. And you.

Can I see Boco's cat and raise you a DH?

DH has a scar on his cornea from a RTA many years ago. It doesn;t affect his eyesight at all. he has just started wearing glasses age 47, prior to that he had better eyesight than me. I appreciate it may depend on where an injury is and so on but thought I would offer a positive story.

Avi you can nominate my endometriosis but I still think Flat Stanley should win this week's quote

Can you remember being told at school not to do shoulder / head stands when you had your period as the blood would flow backwards?!

FrayedKnot · 29/04/2008 22:06

Gosh it is very bloody around here tonight isn;t it?

I am not sure about the fairy hammocks meself.

And I'm not sure why I'm not sure.

Boco · 29/04/2008 22:06

I would have my eyebrows tinted but I would be squeamish about the communal san-pro.

zippitippitoes · 29/04/2008 22:09

at flat stanley being nominated where do these quotes get nominated to?

when i was in bed last night i was experimenting wiht giving birth with my knees together

zippitippitoes · 29/04/2008 22:10

you can never get rid of blood you can shine a light on it and see it years later

pinkspottywellies · 29/04/2008 22:10

Lack do you mean all your veg goes in uneaten?!! At first I thought you meant you have loads of peelings and cores

Speaking of compost I was wondering about the appropriateness of putting exotic produce in the compost. Pineapple compost surely isn't right in this country Another reason to eat local I guess.

I kept meaning to tell you I had a bag of cunting plums the other week and I've had a thought about the people in mango producing countries saying 'these odd British people still want to import our mangoes even though it's cunting season'
