For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

MrsC, no she hasn't. I dunno, what with her antics, and the boys with their blowpiupes, and dd1 with her amazing exploding temper, it's getting dangerous around here.

TooTicky · 24/04/2008 14:40

Thank you for allowing me to stay. You are all very lovely. Nice to see Franny back

Swigs mood essence and hopes it has magical sleep properties too. Bero - do take some with you, won't you?

No more trouble from elevator man so hopefully that's very with now. Thank you for being so supportive when I was being very silly.

I had rhubarb crumble for breakfast

Must go and be a parent now - DS is demanding I play with the Brio. Again.

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 15:01

UR, you need to try and get some sleep too - so take it easy please. So glad elevator man seems to have gone away. Hopefully he has got the hint now.

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 15:02

I am ploughing through F&V at a rate of knots today.

3 bananas
OJ
Large punnet strawbs
bag of rocket
tub of guacamole
2 kiwi fruit
and I'm making moorish cruch salad for dinner which involves ridiculous quantities of carrots, radishes, apples etc.

prob about 15 there.

I have also eaten 4 pitta bread. And prob another 2 later with the salad. Ah well.

Fullmoonfiend · 24/04/2008 15:49

grapes, melon, large smoked mackeral salad with rocket, sweetcorn, olives, tomato, cucumber, iceburg, peppers, sugar snaps; orange juice.

Haven't had dinner yet so I reckon I'm an easy 10 today....

FrannyandZooey · 24/04/2008 16:49

Bero whether you loiter or need a break we are sending fruity vibes to you and hope that you find your mojo v soon

mango news
got one in organic box yesterday that felt ripe - opened today, was cunting grey slime
bought two 'ripe and ready' over packaged doodahs from large supermarket last week, left for about 3 days and they were LOVELY
they don't sell them in the local one, bah

have had spinach salad with beans, tomato, cucumber, red pepper, but not much

lentil and squash and sweet potato for dinner

I could go to gym but am unfeasibly tired. How can I buck up? We had loads of people round this afternoon and although everyone helped a lot it was quite a bit of work I suppose. Plus I keep waking up at 5 am every day when next door have their call to prayer. It isn't loud enough to wake you up if you are asleep, but it is loud enough to kind of keep you awake listening to see if it has stopped, if you happen to be awake or turning over at that time anyway. Then I can't get back to sleep properly.

MrsCarrot · 24/04/2008 16:51

a ripeometer, that's what we need.

Fullmoonfiend · 24/04/2008 16:51

I have lots of mojo

here, all have a swig of this..

MrsCarrot · 24/04/2008 17:02

It is our first anniversary tomorrow, we are going shortly to the hotel we stayed in on our wedding night. It has a en-suite jacuzzi up a little flight of stairs so we sit in there and drink champagne and not worry about waking ds2 up because of course, he is coming with us. Mum said, he'll be alright with me won't he? Er, no, I doubt it very much, he will be furious. So he is coming like last year. Can't believe he was only three months when we got married.

That means I have been here for a year.

Dh wants to have dinner on our own as the dining room is a hairs breath from our room but I don't feel happy about it. He says he will check every 10 mins but you never know, do you?
It would be nice not to have our meal in the room but I don't know about having children there in the evening. Bloody country. I won't be happy about it. There are plenty more years to eat on our own.

We are having breakfast in bed then drining to where we got married for lunch and then as the other dcs are miffed that they are at school we are taking them out for tea so all in all it will be a huge foodie day. I can't wait.

MrsCarrot · 24/04/2008 17:02

I have new rainbow striped underwear.

Not very sophisticated is it. But then I do own wonderwoman pants.

Fullmoonfiend · 24/04/2008 17:03

right MEET UP - PAY ATTENTION YES I MEAN YOU AT THE BACK

the meet up is going to be in NE Essex (exact location to be divulged by email ) on 24th May. It's a picnic, with or without children and spouses (I shall probably send mine off for most of it so I can loll about and gossip).

Please email me if you want to come:

frannyandzooey at india dot com

so far I have got MrsC, pink, wombling, possibly zippi and Boco?

please feel free to organise your own more local meet up if you can't make this one

FrannyandZooey · 24/04/2008 17:09

what shall I bring? Shall I do nice sandwiches (as they don't usually travel too well and the meet is 5 mins from my house?)
Wombling said she would bring mangoes. I think we need scones, and cake, and, I don't know.....lots of stuff

IdrisTheDragon · 24/04/2008 17:15

Hello .

I ran in the rain. It was surprisingly fulfilling. And I have now done first attempt at week 2.

Had some CBT this afternoon. Seems to be helping I think (2nd session). Although I felt very tired afterwards.

When is 24th May? Is that a Saturday? Some amount of Dragons might be able to come (probably not DH, as I should think he would be scared ). Will consider.

Fullmoonfiend · 24/04/2008 17:22

I could have brought cake. Home made scones and things. If it were not a 6 hour, 3 train journey...

UnderRated · 24/04/2008 18:33

MrsC, your underwear made me smile.

at meet up. I'll bake a cake. And be there in spirit.

Please, can any of you help?

FrayedKnot · 24/04/2008 18:50

For MrsC, you need one of these...

I know the person who invented this

Am trying to catch up with everything

The mango post is superb, LadyW

I do seem to find the quality of Waitrose mangoes is fairly consistent but due to cash flow issues I am not currently shopping there.

I made gingerbread muffins today, another Nigella recipe.

Her recipes work very well with gluten free flour.
