For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 12:59

I have a climbing centre in the same complex as the building where I work, it used to be part of the company buildings, but was then sold off to make money, when company got smaller.

TimeforMe - thank you, we like it when people appreciate our fruity puns! This weeks is stuffitlammas work I believe.

I have had avocado and chicken salad and sushi from Pret and now I am eating dried mango. That sounds a lot doesn't it?

berolina · 24/04/2008 13:58

Hello everyone.

Sorry to have to leave you (only temporarily, I hope) so soon after joining, but I need to hide from the world and all representations of it. I am so utterly miserable. I'm 'all wrong and don't know how to get all right again'. (What's that from? It must be from somewhere).

Hope I'll be back as myself soon.

TooTicky · 24/04/2008 14:00

Oh dear Berolina, can we help? I hope you have good, supportive people around you.

MrsCarrot · 24/04/2008 14:01

sorry you feel like that, Bero

we are here if you want to chat, good luck with sorting things out.

TooTicky · 24/04/2008 14:01

Hello MrsC

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 14:05

Berolina,

sorry to hear you are feeling so low, is there anything we can do to help?

Hello Mrs C,

How are you feeling at the moment? The ops is imminent isn't it? I hope that all the helpful people who posted on your thread have helped a little, and that you don't get a hernia from your hospital bag.

Your lunch sounds delish by the way, I have had crappy chicken salad from work canteen and have followed it up with a Toffee Crisp, in the absence of any decent choc.

zippitippitoes · 24/04/2008 14:05

sorry bero

if it doesnt help to talk about it then hope you feel better soon

berolina · 24/04/2008 14:08

Thank you people. I think I need to crawl into my shell for a bit. Getting well again might also help.
I would gladly offload on you all but I'm not sure why I'm miserable. Have a few Ongoing Gripes in my (all things considered actually pretty good) life but usually nothing untackleable. It just all seems rather overwhelming atm.

zippitippitoes · 24/04/2008 14:10

well being overwhelmed is nasty

TooTicky · 24/04/2008 14:13

Good luck Berolina

I am taking ds2 to get his eye checked out when dp gets back with car. He and ds1 were playing blowpipes fgs. With pencils.

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 14:16

Bero,

It is hard when everything gets a bit too much, hope that you manage to get to a better place soon.

TooT, your day gets better and better

Here is a lorry load of choc and mangoes to make you feel better.

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 14:17

Hope DS2 is ok BTW

TooTicky · 24/04/2008 14:17
ladywombling · 24/04/2008 14:19

TooT, I am looking forward to DS getting to that age . It reminds me of a stroy that DH tells, he and his brothers and their mates used to play a game which involved one person being blindfolded in the centre of a room, holding a dart. The rest of them would be arranged in a circle around said person, who would spin around and throw dart. It ended up in Bil's foreheard once

stuffitllama · 24/04/2008 14:20

Bero I hope you don't disappear. Please stay even if it's just to say "two courgettes and a banana" every evening. I'm sorry to hear you are feeling crushed. Can you abandon dirty dishes tonight and tomorrow and get unreasonably early nights and a couple of good sleeps.. will that help?

TooTicky · 24/04/2008 14:22

Wombling, a dart???!!!!

ladywombling · 24/04/2008 14:28

Bero,

Stuffitt said just what I should have,, and was too stupid to, we don't want you to go, we would love you to stay, and keep posting something.

Yes Toot - a dart - how horrific, and it is a miracle that it didn't go in someones eye or mouth TBH.

MrsCarrot · 24/04/2008 14:31

Hi wombling, it's next Friday

Toot - has dd stopped throwing things?

berolina · 24/04/2008 14:37

oh, you are all lovely. All right, I promise to stick my head round the door regularly to mutter something about courgettes and bananas I am unlikely to be talkative, though

I think once I am physically well (my bronchitissy cough is back today) I will be able to see whether this is just an exhausted, discouraged blip or something else.
