For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ds has not rung plumber 1 i mean

bero walk sounds nuice it is nice weather here today

but i must find out how to tile the shower

TooTicky · 26/04/2008 11:06

Oh poor you Bobo

120 cakes? Goodness!

Bee - hope ds feels better v. v. soon. Earache is so miserable.

Ds2 was up in the night crying with pain (his eye) Seems better this morning although it's still not fully open and is swollen.

100x - 8yo has shoes, 6yo is the needy one but he does have school shoes and wellies so not disastrous.
Ds1 is just so damned angry - he has been sharing slightly and intermittantly recently, says he gets v. stressed and that makes him angry. Trouble is, when he is angry he lashes out, and the moment he hurts somebody (usually ds2) I lose all sympathy for his stress etc. Because hurting is not on but he does it and I don't know how to stop him. Poor ds2 suffers a lot and I am crap crap mum because I can't stop ds1 hitting/kicking him. Why? Help.
The eye/blowpipe incident was an accident though and ds1 did apologise sincerely for that.

TooTicky · 26/04/2008 11:07

Humphrey Lyttelton has died. One of those people you expect to carry on forever.

stuffitllama · 26/04/2008 11:15

TooTicky · 26/04/2008 11:17

FrannyandZooey · 26/04/2008 14:10

very sorry for dc with sore parts
earache and eye pain both so nasty
hope it all passes soon

lullabyloo · 26/04/2008 14:18

been swimming despite ds's hacky cough & gunky ears
have avoided it for months
hope it wont have disasterous consequences ,but it was so worth it to see ds laughing & grinning & having a lovely time with dh.
It is about the only bonding thing they do together.

dh has lost a stone since he gave up drinking,in his all in one suit he looked like a skinny runt
His bum is now about as big as ds's
I feel like an elephant

Toot & Bee
Hope little ones are feel;ing better soon
Stuffit..hope party is fabulous
Boco..I wonder if your treatment was the same as mine?
I quite liked the big hair effect tho as mine was rather non existant...horridly stingy tho

UnderRated · 26/04/2008 14:52

Gah, Franny, I just did a stupid thing. Please see email (from different address than the one you used so you now have my RL name ). Am having one of those mornings.

Pavlova will be fab although Stuffit's ice cream thingy sounds delicious.

8 yr old boys are hard, Toot.

Boco, it sounds horribly uncomfortable.

BBBee · 26/04/2008 17:05

boco

"turn around
every now and then I get a little bit crazy,
turn around,
bright eytes,
every now and then I fall apart...."

um, the ear ache seems better (thasnks for good vibes) so now I have to just put up with moans about not going swimming!

I am ovulating.

MrsCarrot · 26/04/2008 17:46

Isn't it a gorgeous day?

We have been to the country and game fair and it was baking hot. Lots of lovely dogs and sheep shearing and parachuting shows and stalls selling overpriced aloe-vera cream next to Hunters wellies and so on. I think I would like a sheep one day.

It is almost barbeque weather here. I am marinading tuna steaks with coriander and lemon and we have asparagus and green beans and salads and corn and stuff.

DD won an enormous pack of electronic vehicles, cars, motorbikes and helicoptor on the tombola. They are all fiddling about and arguing over them in the garden. I am sitting here with a cold drink and ignoring them.

littlerach · 26/04/2008 17:51

It is gorgeous, but very windy.

We have extended our garden by buying osme of the field bahind us, and it is a wastleand.
The girls love it.
They have been digging and making campfires and chairs and all the things they should do.

And the neighbours children came with their rabbit and guinea pig and it was like a pets corner with real comedy moments.

Lager weather

But it's forecast rain here tomorrow.

MrsCarrot · 26/04/2008 18:00

No wind at all here, though the army people were blowing all about the place in the air, apparently they were caught in big blusts while the air was still on the ground. It looked strange.

Yes, lager weather. We bought some gluten free beer from St Peters Brewery yesterday and it's quite tasty, more of a light lager than their usual ales.

zippitippitoes · 26/04/2008 18:08

i have wasted the afternoon sitting on my bed drinking coffee and cutting a few tiles i cant get the adhesive off the wall

zippitippitoes · 26/04/2008 18:08

sounds like you had nice days

BBBee · 26/04/2008 18:29

not read the thread but if ever anyone fancies meeting me at the end of term to go round the tate would be well up for it!

Fullmoonfiend · 26/04/2008 18:31

greyish, fine-ish warmish here...not nice enough to make you feel 'wow'. I spent the whole afternoon at the allotment making a seating area. when I got home after 5 hours, the boys were still in pyjamas and nothing had been done at all at home...
But dh had downloaded a load of audio Terry Pratchett novels so we may curl up, drink wine and listen to stories tonight

BBBee · 26/04/2008 18:31

i spent half an hour lovingly making a leek rissoto only to be told by both dcs that it is horrible and so they had marmite sandwiches.

lullabyloo · 26/04/2008 18:39

zippitippitoes · 26/04/2008 18:47
