For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh my ruddy marvellous flora
well I don't know, perhaps it is not marvellous, but everything certainly seems to work and I don't usually get stomach problems
I mean I do eat a lot of f+v and exercise fairly frequently - what's not to work?
I expect the IBS thing is like a Temporary Cleansing Effect as threatened promised on the Kiki bottle, but it isn't pleasant and it isn't necessary IMO. If you want a good clear out I recommend copious amounts of beetroot [TMI]

FrayedKnot · 26/04/2008 07:55

Morning!

1 strawberry

It is early though

Boco I hope the stuff worked..or is going to work. Is it just one treatment you have to do? Did you get to wash it off last night or was it something to keep on overnight?

Stuffit I presume the party is today....good luck ...sorry about the kebabs. I'm they will be Ok

My pavlova has collapsed overnight

It looked absolutely awesome last night, now it is a pathetic flat cracked pancake

But too late to make another, I will smother with fruit and cream and laugh at it

BBBee · 26/04/2008 07:55

hi all

hi franny

is you tummy still upset? It is not nice is it.

Peppermint tea?

BBBee · 26/04/2008 07:56

hello FK

pavola always looks and tastes divine - you can remedy with fruit and cream. It will be wonderul.

nothing to report as yet.

FrayedKnot · 26/04/2008 08:00

Is everyone always up this early?!

DH did that thing where you go to sleep in the spare bedroom because you can;t sleep which also has the effect (only if you are a DH) of not getting woken up in the morning

It doesn;t work for me, I still get woken because DS wants to check I am OK

Apparently he is not troubled by DH's wellbeing

I have to do some housework today [grumpy]

And the sky is lovely and blue [not-so-grumpy]

BBBee · 26/04/2008 08:02

have applied a mental cork

berolina · 26/04/2008 09:19

Oh am sorry about the pav FK. Sure you can rescue it with fruit and cream as per suggestion.

Good luck stuffit! Am very impressed - my heart sinks into my crocs at the thought of organising a party - and we've got ds2's christening on ds1's birthday next month. And there will be a MNer there (the lovely Ellbell) to report back

Sorry about the earache bee - poor ds. Nice weather? How about a walk/picnic?

I have just been treated to a whole CD of German children's songs, sung in an extremely worthy and po-faced manner. Now the other extreme - (English) nursery rhymes in an ELC plinky-plonk styleee. Somebody save me.

Am sad about Humphrey.

my posts are out of biorythm with you lot
i am very about humph too bero

ladywombling · 26/04/2008 09:33

Morning, Stuffitt I am sure that everyone will fall upon thr fairy cakes, all adults I know love them!

Bero, god I hate those nursery rhyme CD's, DH and I have burned our own, where every nurser song is interspersed with a pop song that we love, and it does make it slightly more bearable, knowng that after the grand old duke of york, there is some bob marley or beatles or something coming up. DD thinks "Jammin" is "Jamas" (Pajamas - lol)and sings along in that vein.

I keep thinking of Humph, I feel like I did when John Peel died.

S1ur · 26/04/2008 09:46

Morning, am about to go out on mega shopping marathon. Not looking forward to it terribly but it Must Be Done. I will hopefuly return with details of a perfect, afforable, available frock.

Stuffit Oooh your party will be fabulous and full of happy well fed, tipsy folk. Make sure that you stop tidying long enough to choose outfit and do hair, central I feel to feelnig like you are the smooth, acomplished host. I think people will notice your hair more than your garden.

Booze - get more, you can always save it for another time.
Food - stock up on gorgeous bread, cheese and strawberries in case other lovely food goes wrong.
Tidying - hide piles and crap in a secret room and close the door.
Playlist - tune computer to Last fm? Or make dp do it?

Bbee your poor baby, oh earache is horrid. Perhaps today should be one of those duvet days Hope he feels better soon.

Fran will email. You are cryptic and I am intrigued

Frayed I am impressed by attempt at Pavlova! Is there anyway you can save such a thing?

Other veggers I hope your days is full of much fruitiness and fun. Must dash, retail horror awaits.

Oh, yes I hav had an apple. Damn good since I usually skip breakfast.

littlerach · 26/04/2008 09:46

120 cakes

That is a lot.

I have made a delicious chocolate cake as I have Family coming tomorrow.

And now I have to resist eating it.

Does anyone grow courgattes and are they easy??

Fullmoonfiend · 26/04/2008 10:35

morning you perky bunch!

Courgettes are easy to grow (except last year )

Stick seed in a pot on windowsill. Water, wait, very soon they pop up. Don't panic of two bottom leaves go yellowy - this is normal. They go brown and drop off. When plant is bigger, move to bigger pot and when frost risk id over, plant out.

consider slug pellets!

littlerach · 26/04/2008 10:43

Thank you FMV.

Do they need to grow up spmehting?

Dd2 has planted potatoes at preschool. She thinks she'll be bringing them home soon....dear girl!

Boco · 26/04/2008 10:45

Good morning.
Bee hope ds' earache is better. Are you supposed to put a clove of garlic in it? Try it anyway, it can't hurt.

Stuffit good luck with the party, sounds very exciting.

Have finally washed off nasty treatment and my hair has gone stiff and big like Bonnie Tyler when she had big stiff hair. Am itching MORE, i have a whole beard of itch. Do I sound attractive? Red itchy beard and giant stiff hair. I don't think I'll be going out today.

zippitippitoes · 26/04/2008 10:54
