For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Evening.

I like mangotrout.

Pavlova sounds lovely.

OJ, raisins, cucumber, rocket - piteous total of 4.

Our F&V listings make me think of that episode of Fawlty Towers with the waldorf salad - 'Celery! Apples! Walnuts! Grapes! In mayonnaise!'

Had a miserable day and a brighter evening. We all went to the botanic garden and it was lovely. I go with dses several times a week but had forgotten how lovely it is on spring and summer evenings. It did my soul good.

berolina · 25/04/2008 22:54

Boco, that sounds horrid Hope the stinging soothes soon. And sympathy to Franny - I get very occasional IBS, it's yuk.

stuffitllama · 25/04/2008 22:54

Hi Bero, you sound more cheery?

stuffitllama · 25/04/2008 22:55

The evening did me so much good, stuffit. Spent most of the day in a dreadful mood but just getting out, with the children and with dh (so not on own with the children), talking to dh instead of exchanging organisational bulletins or bickering , in calm and beauty and the scent of blossoms - it was very, very nice.

berolina · 25/04/2008 22:59

Am coughing away again now though

Night night.

omg i can't keep up!

ahundredtimes · 25/04/2008 23:55

I went out this evening. Now I am back.

I am worried that TooT's problems stem from the fact that the 8 y-o has NO SHOES, which is entirely my fault. They are sitting here TooT. Going to the post office is top of my New Week List.

What's up with ds? I'll try not to be too Woodehousey.

ahundredtimes · 25/04/2008 23:55

woof

S1ur · 25/04/2008 23:58

Evening Hundred, did you have a good night?

ahundredtimes · 26/04/2008 00:00

Yes, but we went to a do at a bookshop and then out to dinner, and I ate too much. We waddled back. DH said 'do you think out stomachs have shrunk or something? We used to be able to eat LOADS'.

S1ur · 26/04/2008 00:05

What a very polite thing of your dp to say. You eat so much you balloon and he says something about stomach shrinking. Men can be very tactful I think.

Stomachs do shrink do though, BC I used to have to get my stomach in training for festivities like xmas with increasingly larger portions. I don't have that problem now.

Anyway I am frankly jealous that you can go out at all! Was it a prof thing or merely for fun?

ahundredtimes · 26/04/2008 00:10

It was for a friend. Was nice.

Well he meant it about both of us, It was sort of conversational. As I waddled next to him I said 'mine doesn't feel so very shrunken now.'

Right, am off to bed. Shall look in for you over w/e Toot. Night Slur.

ahundredtimes · 26/04/2008 00:11

Don't you ever go out then?

S1ur · 26/04/2008 00:13

Oh I meant he sounds nice, its the kind of thing my dp would say to make us both feel better, like reminding me that muscle weighs more than fat and so on. I'm glad you both had a good night.

NIght Hundred

S1ur · 26/04/2008 00:15

We do go out, but not usually together, our dcs (3 and 1) are erm, challenging and frequently need night parenting.

TBH dp goes out more often than I do. That's why I throw so many parties so I can still have an adult evening without the bother of sitters.

stuffitllama · 26/04/2008 00:34
