Anyone else here have covid vaccine injury?

I want to hear from others vaccine injured. Please no-one come on here telling me injuries don't exist. I'm suffering so much since pfizer two with musculoskeletal issues. On 9th surgery since it. Was fit and healthy before working as a postwoman. Mid thirties. Can barely walk now.

I see others on fb with injuries. But never seen it mentioned on mumsnet which is odd. I would like to know if there's anyone here. Thanks.

Myocarditis and an autoimmune condition officially diagnosed and recorded as an MRNA injury. Was hospitalized so the course of it was tracked.

So sorry, it is grim and life derailing.

DS developed T1 diabetes at 33yo after a grim bout of covid. Consultant said it was almost definitely caused by covid and they saw a surge in T1 diabetes cases during covid

Two things that I think it's important I start with: I am an ex-nurse, and very pro-vaccines; it's very hard to know if problems have been caused by the vaccine or by covid itself (as many cases went/still go undetected).

My story is that, shortly after my second vaccine, I developed tinnitus and alopecia areata. Both continue, several years later. I spoke to my GP about it who said that, in her opinion, it was most likely the vaccine (I was constantly testing for covid due to my job, so didn't appear to have had it), as she had seen this reaction in a number of patients.

I have continued to have all the vaccines that I'm eligible for and, as I still work in a high-risk area, but am not eligible for a booster for some time, have recently paid for a Novavax shot.

Different sort of injury, in that it was badly administered and has really damaged my shoulder. 3 years in and am still undergoing treatment, which has made no difference so far.

EasyComfortDishes · 26/09/2024 07:45

My friends mum developed Guillaine-Barre syndrome directly and officially attributed
to the vaccine. She has had to learn to walk again. It was horrific.
For me, not an injury but my periods stopped for a year,
I am cross with myself for having it tbh. Never again.

Lichen planus - autoimmune condition after Covid vaccine

@whyhere my older brother developed alopecia areata after his vaccine too. Started 2 weeks after his 2nd dose if I recall correctly. Still has it

This happened to my daughter too - took ages to fix.

Just a message to say how sorry I am to hear this.

I never had the vaccines on the advice of a friend who is an MD in the states, I'm glad I listened.

I hope in the fullness of time you make some recovery, and get the compensation you rightly deserve.

Good luck, and to others too.

This has nothing to do with the vaccine though. Sadly we also know a friend in their mid 30s who developed T1 after covid.

Sadly Mumsnet don't allow anything against the vaccine. They delete anything that's even remotley anti vax, even if it's offical scientific papers

It is a real shame there was not more open discussion about this. Myocarditis was portrayed as something that was a risk for young men. Nevertheless, many women also got it and some struggled for diagnosis (I didn’t as my case was so bad I was in hospital). Hate to think how many were fobbed off with anxiety/GERD and a lack of investigation.

My father in law developed this too. He's not had anymore COVID vaccinations since and they couldn't guarantee how he'd be.

And yet this thread is still up. So...

Similar, my first jab was administered by a 'volunteer' - quickly recruited, poorly trained - and I developed a frozen shoulder 3 months later, attributed to vaccine injury.

I went back for my second and begged to have it in my thigh, the doctor in charge said they'd seen a surge in shoulder injuries.

I'm probably being thick here but how do you know you wouldn’t have gotten these things anyway? I had breast cancer after the vaccine. Do I think the vaccine gave me breast cancer? No. It’s just that it happened after the vaccine.

I did not know this. Very important information, thank you!

So sorry you had this and hope you are recovering.

In my case myocarditis started 48 hours after the vaccine. I did not have any illness before. There were extensive blood tests and samples in hospital, to look for any other cause. There was a profile of inflammation and heart injury markers with the post vaccine cases and mine correlated. It was diagnosed in the hospital. The hospital had seen quite a few other cases, including other women. So frustrating it was not talked about openly.

The cardiologist treating me said there were some who had a very clear reaction after the first vaccination. Others who had a milder reaction so got multiple vaccinations without realizing and then had problems in the weeks or further after. In the latter cases where women had the problem they often struggled to get tests and diagnosis.

Not anti at all. While being treated I also met people who had terrible complications after Covid.

Even accepted vaccine injuries can be found to be coincidental later. Many teenagers were compensated for developing narcolepsy after the swine flu vaccine, but in the end the rate of narcolepsy was found to be as expected for the year, so no new cases had arisen.

wetwiped · 27/09/2024 09:51

My DD developed central retinal vein occlusion and it has been suggested by her specialist it could be down to the covid vaccine.
Obviously, can never be 100% sure, however, it's extremely unusual in someone so young (DD was 21) and there were other cases noted around that time.
No symptoms of Covid at the time, had Covid the previous year though. Will likely never have a definitive answer.

It's been known for decades that a serious viral infection can be a trigger for T1 diabetes. As @User645262 says, though, this would have been down to the Covid infection itself and not anything to do with a vaccine.

Similarly, shoulder injuries (DH has suffered too) are caused by the poor administration of a vaccine not by the vaccine per se.

WoodforTrees · 27/09/2024 17:43

Pro Vaxer here!

I think.... Myocarditis that led to a heart attack.

My heart attack is not officially 'on record' as caused by vaccine but it happened within a fortnight of my second dose - and I had no heart problems or history of heart disease in my family. Healthy, early forties, never given my heart a second thought.

I was in hospital for 10 days whilst various doctors and cardiologists offered half baked explanations as to why it had happened mumbling about 'maybe a small clot on the mri' 'not sure but some swelling around heart possibly' 'potential evidence of myocarditis but not enough to be sure' blah blah blah

Eventually a much older cardiologist who was responsible for all my follow up appointments quietly suggested that vaccine couldn't be ruled out as the cause.

So - no, not definite. But when all is said and done, it does seem probable.

uiqpwgfhpuoweg · 28/09/2024 08:46

Myocarditis. Bad (hospitalised), it has left scarring and arrhythmia. Officially diagnosed by a cardiologist and accepted as a vaccine injury by the health authority. A colleague and relative also had it after MRNA vaccines, so I question how rare. There has been a long history of inflammatory reactions to MRNA and previously a lot of resistance to it. Appalled these injuries were known about, but the risk to women was concealed. There should be informed consent. Sad about the damage this will do to the trust in mainstream vaccinations.

I've heard this too from my physio. It was a nurse who did mine, which is even more inexcusable. But it should have been predicted that a team of non-professionals administering lots and lots of vaccines was going to carry this risk, FFS. I hope your shoulders is ok now.

Tophelleborine · 28/09/2024 21:57

Yes, but the high number of shoulder injuries from the COVID vaccine rollout have been caused by lots and lots of vaccines being given in a bit of a hurry. I wonder if there was a bit of a culture of sticking them in as fast as possible going on in those first months.
