I got myocarditis within a week, was hospitalised and the case accepted as a vaccine injury. Have gone from fit and healthy to vulnerable and disabled, as it ended with heart failure. It also is not just myocarditis, but a massive inflammatory reaction that triggers autoimmune issues and blood clotting problems. Difficult to tell anyone as you get called an anti-vaxxer, despite having willingly got the vaccine!
I hate the lack of transparency around this. Many women were injured, but because there were more injuries to males they have not been discussed and it is difficult for some to get a diagnosis and treatment.
For milder cases people may just have experienced a sensation like GERD and palpitations. When you look at the journal articles even the mild cases are dangerous if people are unaware and then try to exercise or push through without rest. MRIs are really important for diagnosis if it is not tested for in the first week when troponin is very elevated and there are ECG changes.
One of our female friends also had myocarditis. Was told for years itt was probably from Covid, but after ongoing treatment in hospital and an ICD it has recently been flagged as a likely vaccine injury. Really shocking as if it was from Covid the logical step would be to take every booster available to lessen chances of catching Covid again. This is why identifying the cause is so important. I also have a relative who had myocarditis after MRNA, so maybe there is a family connection in who gets it. Still many unknowns and I wish there was more transparent research to get better care and make informed decisions.
A major tragedy in all this is that by covering up cases and the scale, some people are not getting diagnosed and treated. Plus there is a loss of trust in public health authorities and it may impact the take up of essential childhood vaccinations. Again, I am not an anti-vaxxer, just vaccine injured. My DC has had all the major childhood vaccines. I do not deny the severity of Covid during the early rounds, as I know a family who lost two members (one very old, but the other unexpected).
