For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Fullmoonfiend · 20/04/2008 15:43

Just spent a blissful 2 hours with ds1, eating chocolate and sobbing at Bridge to Terabithia...

Boco · 20/04/2008 15:47

My girls love that film! I hate it! It makes me actually angry, it's so pointless - the thing that happens with the girl - why do they do that?

Fullmoonfiend · 20/04/2008 15:52

I can't imagine many children really enjoyig it tbh. Ds2 (7) got bored and trundled off but I unashamedly love a good manipulated weep at a film...
ds1 didn't cry but snuggled up and let me cry on his shoulder

TooTicky · 20/04/2008 17:17

I have visions of Franny with a cat on her stomach and her legs up against the wall. Is this a pg relaxation thing?

TooTicky · 20/04/2008 17:18

Ds1 has been horrible today. He has just fallen asleep on the sofa and I am breathing more easily.

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2008 17:19

oh thank you Boco! not wishing to look a gift ball in the mouth but is it a large one? I need the larger size if poss
if you do find it I can pay for postage and just borrow it from you if that works

Fullmoonfiend · 20/04/2008 17:49

lol TooT, the Cat is a yoga thing where you go on all fours and arch back lick a cat, then sink it the other way, like a U with your head in air, then arch back again etc. Good for strenghening and keeping back supple.

Had fruit juice, parsnips, red cabbage (whch went blue as I over cooked it!), curly cale, broccoli, carrots, green beans, leeks. slathered in cheese sauce.

Melon and rasps for dessert.
Want more fruit but cupbaord is bare.

lullabyloo · 20/04/2008 18:11

am feeling a bit as friends accused me of hothousing ds today

he is,and always has been fascinated with words
he can read & wants to do wordy stuff all the time

he likes to cut strips of paper & I have to write a word (of his choice) on each & he likes to be tested on them.
he can read, but as I've mentioned before his writing ability-manual skills are not great

what with that & the 'poor child,he must be so lonely'

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2008 18:49

Lully your friends said that, really? what kind of 'friends' are they???

FMF I never do the licking part
you'd get fur in your mouth surely

What a thoughtless thing to say to you Lully You know she is talking rubbish, don't you? Your DS sounds lovely and you are doing just what you should be. He wouldn't do anything he didn't really want to.

Who mentioned crisps? I want some. And cake. Sounds like most people are having lovely busy weekends.

I am not. Well, I am not sure. I reluctantly agreed to go for lunch with Elevator Man. I thought we'd just go somewhere local - walk there and back and it be relatively quick but it has now turned into an excursion downtown and I don't know how we are getting there or where we are going and I didn't tell him I don't eat creatures. I appear to have lost the ability to politely but firmly say no. This does not bode well.

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2008 18:53

god it could be fably exciting UR
tell us again his good points
(make some up if necessary)

OP posts:
UnderRated · 20/04/2008 19:01

Um, good points? He asks about DS. Does that count?

He's foreign, like me, so at least we have that in common.

And he's keen.

I should be able to come up with more, shouldn't I? Like he's handsome and witty...

Will report back later!

The lemon cake sounds delicious. I may make something scrumptious tonight.

Fullmoonfiend · 20/04/2008 19:02

Lully, are these friends?

my ds2 was like this - at preschool demanded to know french words for stuff and counting (don't know how that started...)

Sadly, he plateaued in terms of his early genius but is perfectly popular and naughty and normal and nice.
If we hadn't 'indulged' him, he would have been viley destructive and bored actually.

You do what ever you and ds like, my lovely, don't fret about stupid people!

Fullmoonfiend · 20/04/2008 19:02

UR am liking your slow-burning elevator romance...
