For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i think we can come out from behind the bikesheds now as if nothing had happened

S1ur · 21/04/2008 23:46

Ahhh, that's better. I feel like I just flashed you and ought to be charged with something, possibly indecent exposure on a forum..

I feel much more comfortable in my dark glasses, raincoat and poignant folded newspaper.

BBBee · 21/04/2008 23:46

oh - can i just point out to anyone coming along later the pictures were not nudey apart from boco's as usual

BBBee · 21/04/2008 23:47

yes - nothing to see here, nothing to see.

stuffitllama · 21/04/2008 23:47

my dh would mind a very great deal if I left photos up there

S1ur · 21/04/2008 23:47

Nice xposts there

Tucks pornographic pictures away, just in case anyone later wonders what we were up to.

S1ur · 21/04/2008 23:49

stuffitllama · 21/04/2008 23:49

BBBee · 21/04/2008 23:50

lol

funny how us veggers mainly go for the brazilian

S1ur · 21/04/2008 23:50

Did someone say leeks were overrated. I think they are quite nice actually. Especially with chicken.

UnderRated · 22/04/2008 03:53

Gosh, you talked about fruit and vegetables. Are you all ok? This is rather unusual and a little unsettling to be honest. But I do agree - nothing worse than a floury apple. Yeeuck. I am delighted when I find the perfect banana. They are a rare find. Pears are rather tricky.

I'm partial to beetroot, asparagus and freshly picked samphire. Is that a veg?

lol @ Boco's DD's wankey joke. That's fab. Made me chuckle.

UnderRated · 22/04/2008 03:59

Oh, I went running (30 mins). I am ready for week 3 . And did some weights but they kept clunking and the man on the bike kept looking at me so I scarpered

berolina · 22/04/2008 07:34

morning all. Will be me-me-me first - I have a tummy bug Just nausea and one episode of being ill (euphemism for any emetophobes) last night. But I feel so grim. dh - who is not well either, fluey symptoms , but feels better than I do and wanted some fresh air - has gone out for mints and peppermint tea. It feels really rather like the MS in my last pg . But I am not. I am NOT. Definitely not.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 08:44

Morning UR, morning berolina, sorry to hear about bug
are you really really sure???!!!

Fullmoonfiend · 22/04/2008 09:12

Boco your dd is a comic genius!!

I am very pissed offf that having spent all day sadly talking to myself yesterday, as soon as I leave MN you all do sharing

I especially adore
lychees
Watermelon
Cherries
Raspberries
Pomegranites

(all highly seasonal and a bit fiddly

And Veg-wise
Avocados (i know, I know tis really a fruit but)
Watercress
Leeks
Mushrooms
lentils/kidney beans/chickpeas
Spinach

Boco · 22/04/2008 09:44

Morning Veggers.

I missed seeing Slur, i've only seen her tits body and not her head.

Mushrooms are my most unfavourite of vegetables. Whey they're frying they smell a bit spermy odd.

MrsCarrot · 22/04/2008 09:48

Urrgh, smell like sperm? I like to think they smell like the forest and the earth and garlic usually. Maybe it's the garlic masking the sperm.

I am eating walnut and sultana bread with peanut butter. The fruit bowl is bare apart from a teenage mango, a granny orange and an ancestral coconut. I think this bread would be better with jam.

stuffitllama · 22/04/2008 09:55

hello boco how is dp?
mushrooms are just lovely, i had some steamed mushrooms on sunday morning they were fabtastic
slur has a very nice head
one banana
hi mrs c lovely bread.. eating m and s jammy dodgers (excuse -- jam sandwich creams) brought back as special treat
I love savoy cabbage, carrots, sprouts, broad beans, cauliflower, peppers, chicory, mushrooms, cooked toms and I hate spinach really hate it
all fruit but find lychees fiddly and kiwis messy and not the tart ones like logans and gooseberries

Boco · 22/04/2008 09:57

Yes sorry about that it's too early for this particular comparison isn't it. It's true though. Mushrooms are obscene and should be on the top vegetable shelf.

Boco · 22/04/2008 09:58

Hello Stuffit.

Dp seems much better today, he's up, he's able to walk up right. I reckon flu.

Fullmoonfiend · 22/04/2008 09:58

lol, we have an ancestral coconut too.
The kids refuse to eat it but like to have it around IFYKWIM

Peanut butter and raspberry jam, fruit salad with blueberries, rasps, strawberries, kiwi and melon...

Fullmoonfiend · 22/04/2008 09:59

love love mushrooms. If I were veggie, I'd live off them as a meat substitute

MrsCarrot · 22/04/2008 10:02

On the top shelf? They have nothing to hide you know, don't slur our fungal friends with smutty talk. They are earthy and wholesome and well, maybe you are not cooking them right!

Hello Stuffit. There is also carrot in this bread so I make that three portions. I tried it with goats butter but it was like a hairy butt in the mouth.

MrsCarrot · 22/04/2008 10:03

I mean hairy butt as in the verb, not an actual butt, that would be revolting.
