For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

but it was a good story , so absurdly quick and easy she didn't notice the doula not coming. That only happened to my doula once in 25 years, but nobody had decided they didn't fancy ringing her after all once they were in labour before me.

Jeez LL, how do you keep such enormous amounts of different foods in your house? Do you live in a health food shop?

FrannyandZooey · 16/04/2008 13:39

I have only booked the fricking doula because I never want to be in labour on my own again

(after about 6 or 7 hours on my own last time )

the thought of her not coming out when I want her is terrible

but pleased for your friend, hoorah!

she does not, ES, but she does put basil in odd places...

MrsCarrot · 16/04/2008 14:05

Oh, sorry if it made you worry, Franny. I think it must be extremely rare for them to not make it. The midwife was there. I was thinking it was such a positive story I wanted to share it. I wish I could go and see them but I can't afford to fly to Edinburgh again so soon.

NO NO NO! NO-ONE IS ALLOWED TO GO TO BEUTIFUL DAYS!!!!

I have been for the last 5 years running and I adore it, is my fave festie ever. But we are not going this year because of money. Therefore NONE of you are allowed to go and meet-up. Especially not Toot, BBee or ES.
I shall hex you cry.

eternalstudent · 16/04/2008 16:04

FMF - Why don't you work there? Do a shift in a beer tent or summat? DH and I did that at glasto once... You don't have to do much and you either get your ticket free or reduced.

Or you can do gate duty for a shift or other things.

Worth a look no?

Fullmoonfiend · 16/04/2008 16:07

no, because my children love it too and it would not be fair on them and dh if I were to go without them. (We are all saddo Leveller fans)

eternalstudent · 16/04/2008 16:12

Lots of festivals let you in if you've got a Cunning Plan - some of my friends do punky can-can and get into almost all the festivals known to man for free. Look em up Red Hot Frilly Kickers they're called, most amusing.

Obviously you don't have to be so prepared but could you do something weird or make a large silly sculpture or whatnot?

Fullmoonfiend · 16/04/2008 16:16

dear lady, I already do that on a local level (I have been known to dress up as a pirate, and I am part of the children's entertainment for a couple of local ones...2 hours' face painting for a weekend of fun for all the family)

But Beautiful Days is 8 hours' drive away for us! And £100 in petrol!
We are going to Solfest instead this year.

But I will be gutted if I miss meeting you and seeing Toot at BD. Last year, a fab mumsnetter called Sugarfree and her family saved our 'lives' by letting us team up with them for the weekend - when our group of friends had a huge, messsy fallout and we were stuck in the middle....

eternalstudent · 16/04/2008 16:18

Sorry for the lesson in sucking eggs! Should have remembered that....

Fullmoonfiend · 16/04/2008 16:24

it's ok..
It's rather nice to have someone to talk about BD too actually - it's been such a big part of our lives.
My 10-year-old especially adores festivals: ''they're my couple of days of true freedom a year'' is what he says.

MrsCarrot · 16/04/2008 16:31

We will be driving back from Cornwall on the 16th, would be great if we could stop by the festival on the way home... might see what DH thinks.

MrsCarrot · 16/04/2008 16:40

FMV - You missed me out

BBBee · 16/04/2008 17:01

don't worry carrot - she cut me out too

now you must not compete for bottom of the list spot - the list was about who I should try and eat like - I was eating at just above the 100 level (because in my mind she eats a whole wheel of brie on the way to the school pick up) and I will never be as organised and motiaveted as franny and lully, I am currently aspiring for a fk, with the exercise of psw / mrsc.

FrannyandZooey · 16/04/2008 17:06

have been outdoors a lot eating ice cream
that must count as exercise

Fullmoonfiend · 16/04/2008 17:17

ah bollocks MrsC, I knew it was a stupid thing to do, I knew I'd miss someone out, you know I love you dearly.... You of course, with your 10/10 name would be the one I forgot!
...(I nearly missed out Franny on purpose, because she'd been mentioned By Herself already! )
BBbeee, you were at the front of the list, were you not?
