For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i think it is an excellent idea

i saw one of those barbers chairs from the 19 c at lots road auction room s and was very tempted

S1ur · 15/04/2008 18:59

Zippi you were highly amusing this morning made me laugh.

cauliflower and broclli cheese with salmon fishcakes and egg salad for lunch, breakfast, er, just a dew portions of fruit.

No running after cauliflower cheese though waaay too heavy.

100x - I could never abandon carbs. I would happily eat pasta with chips and a bread roll for good measure.

UnderRated · 15/04/2008 19:02

Carbs are my downfall.

Feeding those children sounds awful, Lully. I wonder if they would try something (like pizza) if they were away from their mother?

Fullmoonfiend · 15/04/2008 19:03

I can't live, if living is without carbs,,

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2008 19:04

have vision of llully as child catcher type

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 19:05

carbs are marvellous, carbs are GOOD
they stop you feeling depressed and give your food comforting texture and satiate you and they are my friend

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2008 20:33

Can I suggest May 24th for a prospective meet up in the aforementioned Essex area?

Please feel free to arrange splinter meet ups for those in far flung areas

we could have them on the same day and link by satellite?
