For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Well done Boco - I had lots of those sort of lessons when I was learning. I think you need to have that sort thogh iyswim. Driving around Norwich is pretty daunting.

Eeww at TooT

Have been to gym, f&v consumption moderate.

DS is ailing, but has no obvious symptoms apart from feeling hot and being very lethargic. He has just fallen asleep on the sofa, which is a pretty rare event.

I've had a cold but he doesn;t seem coldy..has no tummy ache or anything...

I hate this bit when you don;t know if something is going to erupt at any minute.

IdrisTheDragon · 09/04/2008 17:04

Boco, I passed my test lots of years ago and I still tend to do things like stall at annoying moments (and then have it pointed out by DS going happily "Mummy stalled the car again").

I haven't ever really done co-sleeping, apart from when DS was v small and slept on my chest all the time. But I do feel the pain of all people co-not-so-sleeping.

Banana, raisins on muesli, grapes, tomatoes. There must have been more I'm sure....

Boco · 09/04/2008 17:31

Thanks for all the driving encouragement. I guess it gets hard again before it gets easier. Must keep thinking of the good bits, like fast driving on dual carriage ways (fun) and not dwell on all the mistakes and hard bits (all the rest)

Gardening club was good. I was in charge of a team of diggers. One little boy came up to me and said 'are you a grown up then?' Was a little defensive in my reply I think.

zippitippitoes · 09/04/2008 17:36

oh still possible to make driving mistakes after years

is that an encouraging thing to say?

i am sorry you are having such an anxious time mrs c

i have had raspberries and oats and banana and college lunch which was vegetable fritata and new potatoes baby carrots cabbage and coffee for 2.50 whicch i think is quite cheap

i am hungry again

did some digging this am

more spare house disaters re central heating apparently there was a leak which entailed taking the finished an decorated plaster board off the walls in random places to find it which was a nick in the pipe apparently this is the fault of mr nobody

i havent been in there to see what a mess it looks now

the boiler is waiting for an engineer from bosch to come out and fix it and listen to the lies re the cupboard around it which we are pretending was put in after the boiler was made to work which it never has

Fullmoonfiend · 09/04/2008 17:59

Boco, I think I'd take that as a huge compliment

UR, we are scouring pirate bay as we speak to download the Once soundtrack...

today, melon, grapes, pear; carrot, onion, lentil soup, cheese and tomato sarnie, veggie pizza with hefty salad for supper. With some oj, I thank that's just about 10 - and I've done an hour down the allotty for exercise

is it the birthday

my dgs wants a doctors bag for his 4th birthday didnt you do that recently

UnderRated · 09/04/2008 18:14

Oh Toot, that is a fabulous story. It did make my stomach turn but I have fond memories of D of E trips. I don't remember any tampon incidents though. If only we'd had mooncups in those days.

Avi, I really sympathise. I think you explained that perfectly. It's rather wearing after a while. I was always covered in scratches, bruises & teethmarks when I was breastfeeding. I had forgotten all the kicking, pounding & scratching.

lol @ Boco being asked if she is a grown up

Sorry for more spare house woes, zippi.

And good news, Franny.

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2008 18:14

yy is the birthday tomorrow
doctor's stuff coming up also - have bought first aid box to put the things in - digital thermometer that beeps, stethoscope, bandages, plasters, surgical hat and mask and a dressing up surgeon's outfit

oh and a nurses fob watch! i know we are mixing it all up a bit but he just wants medical stuff really

you can get it all on eBay v reasonable price zippi - I have spare masks and hats i think if you need them, but I saw today you can also buy in co-op - I thought only available by stealing from the NHS

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 18:22

Ooh coincidence, my friends's little girl is 5 tomorrow
We are going to party and I am doing some food.
Also giving 2nd hand present but I think that is okay because this friend is the most ethical person I know.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 18:24

Avi, I had to ban the grabbing-the-other-nipple a couple of children ago because it drove me quite insane.
I am having some trouble with night bf atm because my hips feel all loose and achy.

TooTicky · 09/04/2008 18:27

Boco, next time you will have to take ID.

Ds1, ds2 and dd2 appear to be playing nicely together upstairs and possibly

hello all
a whole courgette, a chicory, a banana, two red peppers and other things in vast veg curry but forgot to put in the chickpeas and pinenuts, that'll have to be tomorrow
I am like that juice advert -- bursting with goodness

Boco · 09/04/2008 18:56

Oh I'm old, and I look old, I just have the presence of a non grown up clearly. Maybe it was my lack of control as they threw worms at each other.

UnderRated · 09/04/2008 19:11

What do you do with chicory?

Fullmoonfiend · 09/04/2008 19:18

you chop it, simmer in salted water, taste it then THROW IT AWAY BECAUSE IT IS VILE!!

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:20

Hi UR I chopped it and threw it in. It doesn't taste of much, so I can't understand why some people don't like it. I thought it would taste of liquorice. Endive is supposed to be nicer, but I don't know what to do with it. Here they smother it in cheese and ham (euw). Am just roaming around buying as many different veg as possible, it's quite difficult to fit in the meat eating all this veg. Who's a total vegetarian or vegan here?
