Pain between shoulder blades

BeingmummyIsTheBestxo · 03/06/2024 17:43

Currently sat in A & E after GP sent me via ambulance due to horrendous pain in between shoulder blades and radiating toy chest and abdo. Absolutely excruciating. Had some tea and just waiting for th doctor now. I'm freaking out because they said th ECG said sinus arrhythmia. What is this?? I do have gallbladder issues but this pain is not from that. Does anyone know what it could b? Iv literally been roaring in pain since 12 o'clock.

That sounds awful. I've spent a bit of time in a and e myself lately so know how you must be feeling. I hope you get seen soon.

I've had to bring my 2 yo with me as I have no one to look after him and my DH is away on a work trip. I feel like the world's worst mum.

Afaik sinus arrhythmia isn't dangerous. Can also result from anxiety. That's not me saying it's all in your head btw, just the worry of being sent to hospital and also having to have your toddler with you when you have nfi what's going on could bring it on. I had chest pain and had paramedics out, my BP was through the roof but the paramedic said basically she wasn't worried because it was likely the shock of having a couple of jolly green giants in my living room at 1am!! Also had arrhythmia on ECG.

Have you got a friend/family member you can call to collect dc so you only have yourself to worry about?

I hope you get some answers (and decent pain relief!) soon Flowers

Thank you.

I've been seen and they basically said it's not my heart, all their bloods they did were unremarkable. Basically they cant find anything needing urgent treatment and to take it up with me GP. I asked what it was then because a simple muscle strain shouldn't have me in tears of pain 😭
Only have cocoadamols. Heading home now via McDonalds as I really can't bring myself to cook anything for DS. Fe l so guilty I've had him in there with me all day for apparently no reason.

I had this and it turned out to be my gallbladder, it was blocked at the duct and had to be removed. I've never felt pain like it.

peacelily3 · 03/06/2024 19:09

BodyKeepingScore · 03/06/2024 19:09

I do have gallstones but this doesnt feel like the same pain. Plus they said all their tests on liver, kidneys etc are fine so don't indicate a gall bladder flare x

I'm not sure I've had ot for over 6 hours now. Surely it would be better by now if it was and it's EXCRUCIATING xx

I would bet this is your gallbladder, sounds like referred pain which can radiate to your shoulders and chest. It’s awful! Have you had an ultrasound? Do you have stones? It can be worse when eating fatty foods which can cause the attacks of pain. Hope you are ok! No pain like it ❤️

At least you know it's not your heart but that doesn't help when you're in so much pain. Especially with a little one to look after. Maybe try drinking some hot water with honey or herbal tea if you have some.

justasking111 · 03/06/2024 19:16

You say you have gallstones are on a waiting list for surgery.

I've convinced myself it's a blood clot I'm my lung but they said they aren't concerned about that. It's hurts so bad. Hoping to get DS up to bed and try and relax.

No, I've had them r three years. I don't often hav flare ups or bad attacks and my GP recommended a watch and wait approach I've not had a proper attack since Sept 2022. Hence they said I may not need the surgery as my condition is unlikely to get worse having such a long time of no symptoms.

Well go back to the GP. Do you have a supermarket near you?

I had this and it was muscular skeletal pain after emptying our rubbish bin!The pain only started the next day and I dropped my baby granddaughter. Absolutely excruciating, give me childbirth please instead!
Took naproxen with omeprasole for two months.
Never emptied the bin again!!

MissyB1 · 03/06/2024 19:51

Would put money on this being those gallstones. Go back to GP.

It started Friday while I was driving and I could feel it tightening and then it just want 0-100 in 20 seconds, it went away and had nothing all weekend so thought nothing of it until it started again today out of no where and it HURTS.
