Pain between shoulder blades

Currently sat in A & E after GP sent me via ambulance due to horrendous pain in between shoulder blades and radiating toy chest and abdo. Absolutely excruciating. Had some tea and just waiting for th doctor now. I'm freaking out because they said th ECG said sinus arrhythmia. What is this?? I do have gallbladder issues but this pain is not from that. Does anyone know what it could b? Iv literally been roaring in pain since 12 o'clock.

It's very unlikely it will last the night, mine didn't & everything I've read suggests 6hrs is the max for this kind of stoney shitfit. I wish I'd known at the time what it was so I knew it was going to end without my internal organs being sprayed across the walls.

I was recommend the cow & calf position on here whilst I was freaking out, it is worth a try.

I can't find anything on the Google about cow and calf position just pictures of cows and how to help cows give birth 😳🫣 help 😂

Would you think of trying an osteopath incase it's muscular, you may have something trapped or something. X

Caerulea · 09/06/2024 23:09

Omfg lol, it's the cat & cow. No wonder you couldn't find it

bfsham · 09/06/2024 23:10

Cat cow yoga pose OP

If you get to the point where you can lay on your side you're coming to the end of it, I was able to fall asleep in that position even though I was still in pain, just much less.

Managed to crawl up to bed, sat on edge of bed sipping water to try and belch it out. 😳

Ive really changed mind, I thought it was something trapped originally but the pain between shoulders is now accompanied by pain iny right side and stomach so I'm sure now it is infact the dreaded gallbladder attacks making a return after their holiday.

Oh I also tried two rennies & some peppermint tea. I don't actually know if they helped cos I was out of my goddamn mind at that point.

I've just had some rennies and loads of water. Had some Ibruprofen and paracetamol about two hours ago. Now got horrible acid in my throat too. Like I needed that as well 🙄😂

I've managed to low down on bed on my left side and propped up on some pillows. But now my right side is just STABBING.

Fingers crossed it's starting to subside? You must be knackered!

Scarletttulips · 09/06/2024 23:39

I’ve had gall bladder surgery.

Before that I was given a diet sheet on how to avoid any type of fatty food including milk - you can have soya milk but not cows milk.

Look it up - makes a big difference to how you feel. But you need to have it removed.

Yes, I was due to have it removed in 2023 but the operation was cancelled at the last minute by the surgeon because he didn't feel comfortable doing it withy BMI. It was 54 (I've lost weight) it's now 41, still high but I'm.workimg on it.

Then at my follow up with GP at the time some months later I told him.i hadn't actually had any further attacks and he said well if they have become infrequent and less painful it's unlikely your condition will worsen so let's watch and wait. Alas, another year later here we are.

Oh OP you have my sympathy. Touch wood I've never had gallstones but I've had kidney stones and honestly by FAR the worst pain I've ever had. Id imagine they're similar pains. Really deep and gnawing. Makes me shudder.

Would a hot water bottle help at all?

Was it in between your shoulder blades and taking your breath away.? It feels iny shoulder blades but also iny chest and it squeezes around while back into abdo. Sharp horrible pain!

This sounds exactly like my gall bladder issue. It turned out to be sludge in my gall bladder and a small stone blocking the duct. It passed through the duct the following day and I felt huge relief.

caringcarer · 10/06/2024 01:18

BeingmummyIsTheBestxo · 08/06/2024 20:59

I'm glad they are getting to the bottom.of it!! I'm still in pain, GP is adamant it's ot relating to my gallbladder and is muscular 🙄

Did you have an ultrasound scan on gall bladder? That's what you need. Ask if there is sludge. That's what caused me the pain plus the tiny gall stone stuck in duct.

BeingmummyIsTheBestxo · 10/06/2024 04:31

Yes I had one two years ago and it was confirmed I have multiple stones.

Just coming on to say that’s deffo your gallbladder OP get it removed. I found vomiting helped when I had attacks like your’s.

Everything you’re describing screams gallbladder to me esp the pain around my shoulder blade, then the extreme pain.

a roast dinner and choc would send it mad!!!!

Plus the weight loss would have been a lot for it to cope with

whyhavetheygotsomany · 10/06/2024 06:15

Is it like a crushing feeling ? Like someone is sitting on your chest ? If so it's acid reflux. Mine always starts between the shoulder blades. It's excruciating pain

It MAY be acid reflux. This is also a symptom of heart attacks.

I realise unlikely in this case but please don’t give dangerous advice.

whyhavetheygotsomany · 10/06/2024 06:48

Excuse me but the op said they ruled out the heart. Sharing what mine was not giving dangerously advice. Thanks 🙄

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 10/06/2024 08:01

Apple cider vinegar helped mine. They do recommend you use the stuff with the mother inside it, but I just grabbed whatever was the cheapest in the supermarket. Then you just mix it together with a bit of apple juice
