For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I don't watch many films. Not films for grown ups anyway.

lullabyloo · 05/04/2008 23:20

Too sad
I have been painting & sobbing

lullabyloo · 05/04/2008 23:21

English patient Toot?
She was truly sublime in that

TooTicky · 05/04/2008 23:21

Have you eaten?

TooTicky · 05/04/2008 23:22

Nope, haven't seen that either.

lullabyloo · 05/04/2008 23:23

Lol Toot

I had an orange & some cauliflower..too busy painting

lullabyloo · 05/04/2008 23:24

Where can I get cheapish seagrass/coir or similar natural flooring from?

TooTicky · 05/04/2008 23:25

You need more than that.

Is it fumey paint or natural? The horrid stuff can make you quite weak.

TooTicky · 05/04/2008 23:27

I don't know. I love the idea of natural flooring. Or wood. We have grubby carpets one with a truly hideous 70s pattern.

TooTicky · 05/04/2008 23:30

I'm going to have to go to bed. Ds1 will be shouting, "What's the time?" from 6ish onwards. He hasn't quite got the hang of lie-ins. Or indeed, keeping track of his watch

lullabyloo · 05/04/2008 23:35

I must too
I think I'm high on fumes
Its Farrow & Ball ...not too bad..but bad enough

Sweet dreams

lovely party
lovley cake
lovely boy

looks like a lovely day,

this is not very 10/10 but I REALLY need to lose some weight - I am working lots and not thinking enough about food so I need some tips for easy convient ways to get on track.

FrannyandZooey · 06/04/2008 10:35

exercise
make sure you get your ten EVERY day - and cut out processed stuff

if you do those two things and need to lose weight IMO you will
if however you stay the same then I think you are meant to be the weight you are - this can change over the course of your life and even if you are heavier now than when in 20s, you can still feel healthy and look good if you eat well and exercise so your body is in good nick

Sunny, cold wind, no snow. We're off along the canal and up to the park.
Ds1 is having an obnoxious day and I am totally fucked off with having to be policeman.

Fullmoonfiend · 06/04/2008 14:22

hello! Back from our adventures - though after we had been driving for 3 hours dh looked stricken and said he had forgotton to boat keys [gah!!] [gah!!]

By this time it was eaiser to keep going and hope we could break in or something when we got there as boat has spare set...luckily the lovely people at the boat yard had a spare set... it would have been grounds for divorce otherwise

Lovely weekend. I drove (correct terminology??) our boat and did eight locks. I can feel every single muscle in my body today..it snowed lots overnight and was quite magical.

Ho hum back to crapness reality. Ds1 is sobbing his heart out bewcausee he has realsied it is school tomorrow. DH is bussing over to my parents to borrow a car for a couple of days. But my lovely friend has sent me a fruit and veg box which would have been utterly heavenly if I had not already shlepped out when we returned and lugged a week's worth of f&V from the supermarket..

Anyone want any celeriac?

MrsCarrot · 06/04/2008 16:09

Hello - we are back too, but I have a worse key story, unfortunately. We drove into the valleys to see where my mother grew up/went to school etc, all very emotional/stressfull, ended up rowing with DH, who stormed off up the hill informing me I could walk back while gesticulating throwing the keys. The car key flew off the bunch and landed in a gorsey bush in a school.

Thud.

Two hours later, we emerged sheepishly down the hill covered in muck and our hair stuck up with sticks and asked if there was anywhere to get a taxi fifty miles back to where we were staying. Luckily 'Dai' up the hill had a van. Cost us the best part of £100 and then BIL drove from Kent to Norfolk to collect our spare key which he then drove to Herefordshire to collect DH before driving him back to the Rhondda valley to get the car. A twelve hour journey one way for him as he got lost. Volvo can do nothing about a lost key short of completely refitting the locking system. As we got back to our barn Dai said, key in the bush? You should have said, neighbour has a metal detector. Was dark by then.

Despite this we had a lovely relaxing time and I want to go back. I have also started drinking coffee again. One cup after a sunday lunch and bam, wanting two a day ever since, first time in three years.

Fullmoonfiend · 06/04/2008 16:47

Oh you win. definitely!

MrsCarrot · 06/04/2008 17:01

I'd rather lose!

I'm very impressed with your lock efforts. I tend to be found with sipping G and T on the roof when it comes to the locks.

TooTicky · 06/04/2008 17:11

Goodness, you do both live dangerously, don't you?

We played in the park, played football, hit crisis point when dd2 was crying that nobody liked her and it was windy and she wanted to go home, and ds1 chased ds2 quite savagely and gave him a shove which made him hit his face on a metal post, then ds1 started crying because he'd wanted to play football with ONLY ME and he hadn't, while ds2 was sobbing in my lap and thinking he was going to be sick, and dd2 was SCREAMING for mummy milk, and if we didn't play he wasn't coming home with us.
They all wailed and roared for about 10 minutes and it was dreadful.
Then I got ds2 back into his fleece and coat and rather surreally bf dd2 leaning on a goalp[ost in light snow. Then we managed a fairly civilised game - dd1, ds1, ds2 and me, with dd2 on my back making amusing joggly noises when I ran. And it snowed quite a bit but didn't settle
I am quite jubilant that we managed to turn the situation around and have fun though
