DD has seen a consultant for tests recently, she is behind at school and seems emotionally immature. We had lots of academic tests done, took about 2 hours. She seemed to do ok.

We were then sent to the hospital for blood tests. I have no idea what for. The hospital just phoned me and said can the consultant come to the house one evening this week and speak to me about the results. They said they need my husband to be home too.

I am terrified. Has anyone else had a consultant come to the house? Am shaking and cant get hold of my husband or my mother.

She is coming tonight.

have just read this thread. really hope all is ok xx

LaDiDaDi · 01/04/2008 20:19

Just seen this thread.

I know that lots of paediatric consultants do home visits to see families for a variety of reasons.
If you are particularly worried that the visit relates to the blood tests did your dd have her chromosomes checked? An abnormality in these could have come back and explain why the consultant wants to see you and your husband or their could be lots of less serious explanations too.

Will look back at this thread later. Hope things are going ok.

It's crap. She has Turners Syndrome, i dont really know anything about it. The consultant was very nice and apologised for how it had to be done.

She has all the markers for it, very clear now i know them. It means she has no ovaries. We are devastated. I have no idea what to do. It is not life threatening she tells me.

I need to phone my mum. I have already had a drink.

Anyone know anything about it?
