DD has seen a consultant for tests recently, she is behind at school and seems emotionally immature. We had lots of academic tests done, took about 2 hours. She seemed to do ok.

We were then sent to the hospital for blood tests. I have no idea what for. The hospital just phoned me and said can the consultant come to the house one evening this week and speak to me about the results. They said they need my husband to be home too.

I am terrified. Has anyone else had a consultant come to the house? Am shaking and cant get hold of my husband or my mother.

She is coming tonight.

Have also been thinking about this for most of the day. It reminds me of when I got a message from dp that my consultant had phoned and wanted me to phone him asap - and gave her his mobile number for me to phone him on. Working in the NHS I know how weird that was and was instantly panicked - I knew it would be about the results of my brain scan.

Turned out it's all OK - I do have a lump but it's benign and they're not worried about it and it's monitored, but he didn't want me to get the ordinary letter without talking it through.

What I'm trying to say is that fingers crossed it's something that the consultant will be able to reassure you about and explain in a way that a standard letter can't.

Fingers and toes crossed for you all xxx
