For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

'ello all

You've been busy again. I want to come to a camping meet-up

Sorry for bad days people and complicated stuff. Can't comment on anything cos am drinking

Um, hummus, carrots, orange, bit of kiwi, tons of popcorn

lionheart · 30/03/2008 09:16

Hello everyone.

Camping sounds ace provided you can retreat to a nearby hotel if it gets rough, lots of fun.

I went to see the dancing Billy Elliot boys yesterday and it was fabulous and so good to see something challenging male stereotypes for a change. Lots of people in the audience cried, but still, it was very energising.

(Ate something disgusting at the station).

eternalstudent · 30/03/2008 09:54

The sun has got his hat on hip hip hip hooray, oh the sun has got his hat on and he's coming out to play.

whisper it - I think my insomnia is retreating. 9 hours sleep last night. Not including the bit in the middle where I had to deal with screaming DD.

I have booted DH off down the allotment with DD (whilst I pretend to snooze) but actually I am up and cooking / cleaning / mostly MNing

There is some pie left, if you're quick.....

Defo to nuts n seeds.

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2008 09:57

i am supposed to be orgnising some sort of workig party of children to help do the front garden of the spare house and some other stuff for it

haha

ladywombling · 30/03/2008 10:03

Morning all,

Sun is shining here, although I have toothpicks propping my eyelids open. Worked on a presentation for work until 1am, and then was up most of he night with grizzly DS, and up for the day at 6.30

To top off my week, my dad is now in hospital admitted by paramedics last night for severe D&V, complicated b diabetes - crapola.

I am of billy elliot lionheart, wish i could get to more stuff like that.

TooTicky · 30/03/2008 10:23

Sorry to hear about your dad Wombling, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

I am fulfilling seemingly endless breakfast orders.

Does anybody else have stupid armpits?

ladywombling · 30/03/2008 10:35

Well TooT,

I don't think my armpits are the cleverest armpits around, but not sure aboout stupid.

What do you mean?

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2008 10:37

i hope your dad recovers soon

my mum had diabetic comp-lications a lot i know how awful it is and how hard to get balanced again

lullabyloo · 30/03/2008 10:37

Ooooh Wombling you poor thing, what a beastly week

Stupid armpits Toot?
How so?

lullabyloo · 30/03/2008 10:39

Oh no
not another nestle boycott thread
Is it really so difficult?

Fullmoonfiend · 30/03/2008 11:12

morning all,
great fun at theatre last night. Twas called the witches bogey and also included lumps of green slime being thrown at the audience - how to immediately engage 2 boys into 'theatre'

Wombling, poor lovely, what a week you're having. Hope your father is ok.

Franny - I didn't actually mean to ignore your post about DP's little session... I had a long convo with you about it - in my head! How come you did not pick up my telepathy? (that is to say, I composed a long, errudite, insightful and thoughtful post in my head but forgot to actually post it.)

We might be up for a camping meet-up? as long as it is not too far south

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2008 11:23

Morning people
first of all can I say I am very sorry if i have made people feel uncomfortable about drinking and stuff from what I have said
dp and I both have drink problems so it is a BIG deal for me if he goes on a bender and it makes me feel very cross and worried
however this does not translate to me being cross and worried if YOU want to drink or anything like that (I may worry but I think we all might, a bit)
and yes I am always going to be more po-faced about it because of my experience but you will have to mentally discount that as me being boring
I am sorry if I made people feel that way

will report back on f+v shortly

now you can have a special nut award or whatever if you like, you can have gold stars for eating nuts or you can try to eat 10 nuts a day but you can NOT include nuts as one of your 10 f+v because they AREN'T. They are very good foods and it is good to eat them every day but they have not got the same things in them that we are trying to get with the f+v. So you can't substitute. Not when I am looking, anyway.
and by the way I DO eat seeds every day and sometimes twice a day, it is just nuts I am not fond of, and I sometimes eat them anyway because of being ticked off on here about their savoury goodness.

lullabyloo · 30/03/2008 11:26

even though you'll hate it

you didn't make anyone uncomfortable,I'm sure
I can quite, quite understand how you feel lovely one
