For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i ahve been to the gym and swim had to make them both a bit shorter because i left it too late and canoe club starts at 5.30 so missed my second treadmill and only did 45 lengths

now should have some suitable food

and bake bread

eternalstudent · 29/03/2008 18:58

Zip - depends on the size of your pitch and whether you need water / electric etc etc.

They are mega organised these folk and want pitch diagrams, structure diagrams, square footage, electric points, health and safety quals, risk ass etc etc in triplicate MONTHS before the event.

Not to put you off or anything! We tried to do it once and gave up!

I am about to make a strawberry and rhubarb pie. My G'ma used to make it whenever we were back in the uk and I have been hankering after it for about 9 years. Hope I don't let myself down!

BBBee · 29/03/2008 19:43

hello

lots of tomatoes and coffee

what does the term 'vanilla' mean to you?

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 20:08

it reminds me what an adventurous sex life i have rofl

FrayedKnot · 29/03/2008 20:10

I read the other thread, and I thought it meant no kinky stuff, as well, BBBee...

Who is the person who mentioned it?

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:24

some bloke I know kind of randomly but in a friendly way - kind of freaked me and then thought I might be being paranoid.

how are you fk - mood brighter?

zippi - i kind of want to ask you about weigfht loss because i know you have made fab progress - but it is not very 10/10 is it?

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:25

(paranoid as in I am reading sexy sex into everyday comments - hence the thread)

ladywombling · 29/03/2008 20:28

Hi

Vanilla means plain/normal relating to lots of things inc sex.

Why, what did you think it meant BBBee?

TooTicky · 29/03/2008 20:28

EternalStudent, back in the UK? Where were you usually?

Vanilla is a nice, flower-derived flavour/fragrance, surely. Or am I naive?

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 20:30

you can ask me about weight loss

think it can be 10/10

unlike sex obviously

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:32

womble - i thought it just meant sex so when friend bloke said I was 'not vanilla' I thought he was referring to my sexual habits but he might have meant out of the ordinary.

Zippi - what did you do to lose wiehgt Gin

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:32

not Gin

IdrisTheDragon · 29/03/2008 20:35

I only think of vanilla in the way TooT does [innocent emoticon]

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 20:46

well i have kind of rediscovered sex since losing weight i think it porbably helpos to keep it off or at least the prospect of spending time naked does

anyway i have written about this before

i gave up alcohol
i only ate stuff which was actually good for me

i had no sweet stuff

no bread

no pasta

hardly any rice or paotaoes

oats granola and fruit and organic milk for breakfsast

sald and cottage cheese or something liem that for lunch

chicken and veg or sald for dinner

no cheese

not more than a small glass of fruit juice

gym for an hour swim a mile tried to do those three times a week

then i started doing more exercise toill i was doing a 6 mile walk everyday as well

thats about ti really i lost about 1 to 2lbs a wek

and i just adjusted what i was doing to make sure i kept losing weight

so it took me about a year to lose 4 to 4 and ahlf stone so i went from 14st 7 to about 10st 2 i have ben a bit less than that

i do have some muscles

i havent been particularly good with my exercise the last few months so the idea is that now the clocks are changing i get back to doing the walking everyday again and get to the gym/swim more often

i have had alot more sex tho so that counts as exercise in my book

tho i am pretty lazy

which hasnt gone unnoticed so i am having to make a bit more effort

eternalstudent · 29/03/2008 20:47

TooT- We lived all over the place. UAE, Pakistan, Zambia, Australia etc Dad's job moved us around alot.

My pie looks amazing, I'm scared to taste it.

Just ate a whole bag of spring greens and feel quite... holy.. almost.

TooTicky · 29/03/2008 20:51

Wow, how exciting!
What sort of pie?

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:52

lullabyloo · 29/03/2008 20:52

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2008 20:52

i am now hopelessly see sex everywhere thanks to bbee

lullabyloo · 29/03/2008 20:52

lol at us all drooling

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:53

I have the stuff to make an apple pie - I like apple pie.

I like all pies.

BBBee · 29/03/2008 20:53

vanilla pie zip?

TooTicky · 29/03/2008 20:54

Sounds lovely but I don't think I could actually bring myself to cook a strawberry - they are too scrummy as they are. Even sugar is sacrilege. Sacrelige. No, sacrilege.
