Heart issues since the Phizer Jab

Hi guys,

I am at my wits end and wondered if anyone had similar experiences.

I just want to start by saying I am not ant vaccine. I appreciate it has saved a lot of people. I don’t even know if my symptoms were caused by this (I suspect yes though).

At the time of the rollouts, I had the AstraZeneca 1 and 2 jabs and had no symptoms at all. By the time of the 3rd booster jab, the Government were now saying (despite previously saying not to) that people could mix vaccines and the only vaccine offered was the Pfizer jab.

The night I received the Pfizer I experienced a feeling in my heart I have never felt before, like a deep whooshing sensation jolting me awake. It would only happen when I was seconds from falling asleep. Very scary feeling and I was unable to sleep as it kept happening. This went on for weeks and often would be awake until 4-5am. Then sometimes the feeling would go but always return after a few weeks.

I went to the doctor, and they referred me to cardiology. I have been with cardiology for 2 years now and had different tests all apparently fine. The Cardiology waiting lists are long so it is 3-4 months between appointments.

I have had 48 hour monitor fitted, ECG, echo scan, stress test, blood tests, CT stress scan. No Sign of scarring of the heart, infections etc. Only issue they diagnosed was ectopic beats and have recently been prescribed a low dose of bisoprolol.

In the 2 years the issue first happened I feel like the symptoms have evolved. The whooshing feeling in my chest is now a rush of warmth that can even be felt in my throat and face, always fleeting. My feet are burning. I wake up with a jolt and body is shaking involuntarily. I get pins and needles a lot and frequently wake up and my left hand feels so numb it almost feels disjointed. I get chest pain on my worst nights. I cant sleep when it happens. I have shoulder pain but when I told my GP about that they didn’t do any tests and just sent me for physio that hasn’t helped. I do find that if something scares me, that makes me worried or causes me to jump, I know I will have a particularly bad night and the symptoms will be worse for weeks. I have lived with this for over two years with everyone telling me I am fine and nothing wrong with me. I just wish they could feel what I feel in my heart.

Last week I had an online appointment and they basically told me they don’t think any of the issues are caused by my heart so to speak to my doctor so in over two years we have gone full circle. Doctors were the ones who referred me to cardiology in the first place. I understand from their point of view they can only go by the tests which all seem fine. And I have logged a call with my GP so waiting for them to call. But its been so horrible living like this and hey make me feel like I’m lying and I’m not feeling what I am feeling.

Has anyone had anything like this?

Not saying this was caused by the phizer jab and no evidence has been found to suggest this, I know Covid causes heart issues too, but it is a fact the issue began the first night of receiving the jab.

I just don’t know what to do, I cant afford to go private but it is affecting the quality of my life.

Sorry its so long!

This sounds a lot like anxiety to me.

QueenCoconut · 30/01/2024 23:49

Could it be hormonal/ menopause/ period related?

PeopleAreWeird · 30/01/2024 23:51

And its threads like this that will cause panic

KnickerlessParsons · 31/01/2024 00:00

Are you of menopause age?

TinkerTiger · 31/01/2024 00:01

Sounds like anxiety.

justasking111 · 31/01/2024 00:03

Any digestive issues?

It could be, I'm at the right age (45). But I've had this for over two years and no GP has mentioned the possibility so who knows

How? I posted in general health. I don't think anyone should be silenced for seeking anyone else with similar experiences.

What type of digestive issues and what medication are you on for it?

CityCommuter · 31/01/2024 00:42

@namechange301 it does sound like there's a connection tbh being as your symptoms started on the night you had the Pfizer jab. It certainly doesn't sound like anxiety so it's odd that someone suggested that... though not getting answers would stress anybody out! I think the doctors want to distance themselves from any possible 'connection / link' with problems from the jab even though deep down they may believe there's a link. It must be a difficult situation for you but somehow this needs sorting out...

namechange301 · 31/01/2024 00:45

@justasking111 no meds , I did a sample recently and bloods which ruled out IBS etc, waiting on GP to advise next steps but symptoms very much like IBS

margegunderson · 31/01/2024 00:46

Honestly sounds like meno to me - and most GPs wouldn't suggest it to you. Health anxiety is one of many symptoms you might experience. It might be worth looking into?

Yeah I do understand what anxiety can do and stress and that's probably the first thing the docs rule out but in this case I don't think it is. It might be nothing to do with the vaccine, but defo started on the first night.

Sorry forgot to add, the cardiologist did actually say they are seeing similar in others and the GP I spoke to the other day said that are finding out more about side effects. Two years ago when I first started having the issues they dismissed any link but now I'm finding they are more open to it

Thank you, yes I have looked into health anxiety and anxiety in general. I've looked in every possibility :( but just doesn't seem to fit. I have another blood test soon focusing more on the pins and needles and very hot feet at night. Could me menopause too and I've looked in to that as well. I just wish I knew what was wrong, when I have bad symptoms I'm unable to sleep because the sensation only chest jolts me awake.

I found some foods set it off . Eating too much, not eating enough. So I try to eat regularly but light foods.

I try to avoid,
Onions
Garlic
Mushrooms
Fatty food
Chocolate
Fizzy drinks
Caffeine

I try to eat
Gluten-free pasta
Rice
Lactose free milk

The above helps a lot, together with 2.5mg bisoprolol daily.

I read up on the vagus nerve and diet. Very interesting connection between the gut and this.

sashh · 31/01/2024 08:42

As it is happening at night I think you need a sleep study.

The problem is which one?

Did you have any symptoms when on the 48 hour recording?

Has the cardiologist suggested an event monitor? This is a device you keep for a few weeks and record your ECG when / if you have symptoms.

KnittedCardi · 31/01/2024 08:50

It sounds exactly like anxiety/menopause. Symptoms match up completely. Note that the vax does have an effect on hormones, period cycles, so that could have been a trigger and timings just happened to match up with changes in your hormones levels. I'm amazed doctors haven't looked at that before going down a full cardiac route.

Thanks for that, I am currently on a low calorie diet but definitely still been eating stuff from your list, I'll bear the advice you gave in mind.

As someone with health anxiety, I believe the initial symptoms have triggered anxiety in you.
