For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 19/03/2008 17:33

we are having salad with spinach, chickpeas, cucumber, carrot, pepper, tomatoes, avocado

I am buying a second hand very thick bottomed huge saucepan, to aid me with my bulk cooking. How much does a very thick bottomed huge saucepan cost to buy, as I said I would pay a quarter of what it cost new?

at you all menstruating.

The first time I talked with zippi was with the tippitoes bit. It's comforting to see it back again.

Sorry your driving lesson was so stressful today Boco. Is backing into a carpark space something they teach now? I don't remember doing that. I didn't do the theory test either but have had to do two of them over here. Grrr. Your story did make me giggle a bit though. How is your lip? And what about zippi's hand?

I'm a bit torn about the Cadbury's/ Green and Blacks thing but am thinking it would be better to boycott both really. Thankfully I don't really buy chocolate over here and Cadbury's in the US is made by Hersheys which is owned by Nestle. Nestle seem to own everything.

I am feeling glum today.

What's going on with MP?

UnderRated · 19/03/2008 18:10

Oh, banana. Some kind of veg thing with beans, I think. Am looking at an orange.

BBBee · 19/03/2008 18:19

was there talk of a breakaway faction? I should join.

For a treat as ds was at friend's house dd and I did cooking. She chose easter nests and we had chocolate (fairtrade coop - phew) and mini eggs (cadburys - fuck) and then she put in too many cornfalskes and so I out in some heated up golden syrap.

The resulting 'cakes' are tooth achingly head whizzingly sweet. She likes them.

Boco - I was shit at driving, I was shit in loads of my lessons, he had to do loads of emergancy brake things. I passed on my 4th attempt.

BBBee · 19/03/2008 18:21

oh and my period has just finished and so I have hung up my mooncup (methophorically obviously - it doesn't have a peg).

I am tired and as I put it away I thought about how that was the last period when I am 33 and my next period will be when I am 34 and then I got all kind of wistful and thought about time and life and things.

Bloody mooncups (not literally).

FrannyandZooey · 19/03/2008 18:21

why does everyone want to break away?
don't you like it here?

Boco · 19/03/2008 18:22

Yes, join the breakaway faction, we're all waxed smooth and puffing away. Golden syrup sounds good.

BBBee · 19/03/2008 18:22

no franny - but you have collected a group of misfits and rebels - 'tis our natural instinct to rebel even against our own kind.

We will rebel and then all rush back again in a cycle.

Boco · 19/03/2008 18:23

Yes. See, just like Bee said. A terrible cycle.

Boco · 19/03/2008 18:23
FrannyandZooey · 19/03/2008 18:23

sooooooo
Bee
which day is your birthday?

I didn't collect you Boco - that would have involved far too much effort

I had to miss childrenb's easter service today which was a shame. DS said "Don't worry mummy, it doesn't matter - god doesn't exist."

ahundredtimes · 19/03/2008 18:24

I took my driving test seven times [bows] It was parking that what did for me most of those times, but by no means all.

The puppy classes were most interesting - but I was late and had to sit at the front next to teacher. Was very good for staring and trying to work out which dog each person might have. There was the Lady Who Asked Too Many Questions at the front, and her silent husband in a canary yellow jumper. I think the whole thing is going to be wonderful. We are going to be split into groups. Afterwards a very pale woman with pulled back hair said 'Well I wish I'd been late, THAT was all common sense' and she looked all cross and frowned at the Head Dog Lady. [hugs self] Can't wait till next week, have told JJ all about it.

Haven't eaten much. Am going to do emergency dash to Sainsbury's now to buy small eggs for dcs - they finish their term tomorrow! Tomorrow! How mad is that.

Hope all well.

BBBee · 19/03/2008 18:27

oooh - what is the secret of the man in the canary jumper - he has to have a secret - his wife talks a lot and he doesn't mind because he is thinkgin about his secret.

My birthday is on thrus, but have moved it in my head to weds and I am going to see the history boys with my mum in london. Hoo-rah!

UnderRated · 19/03/2008 18:27

My mooncup odes have a peg!

I'm too lazy to break away so you're stuck with me here, I'm afraid.

FrannyandZooey · 19/03/2008 18:28

mine has a cosy
the cosy could hang on a peg I suppose

Boco · 19/03/2008 18:32

His secret is he fucking hates dogs. And probably his wife but definitely dogs.

ahundredtimes · 19/03/2008 18:35

He did eye rolling when she asked Too Many Questions. And what questions she had! I think he hates the dog too, he definitely doesn't want a) to be at the classes b) to be wearing that jumper.

It was an odd assortment of people. I am not in Head Dog Lady's group which is a relief because she told her group to bring bowls and food with them to practise 'eating manners, I'm very strict on that' and then she looked at her papers and said 'I don't know what Mike's group will be doing.'

How is your lip Missus? Are you okay?

UnderRated · 19/03/2008 18:36

DS won't nap and I need him to nap today.

You don't see many yellow jumpers around these days, do you?

ahundredtimes · 19/03/2008 18:37

I need to go to Sainsburys. But I'm suddenly v. tired at prospect.

What is the breakaway group going to be doing? Can't we just jump in the pit and be done with it - or is it more of a radical sort of group?

UnderRated · 19/03/2008 18:38

Eating manners? I thought it would be things like coming back when called or not jumping up on strangers and not barking. I didn't know dogs needed eating manners.

ahundredtimes · 19/03/2008 18:38

Their dog was a cocker poo [snigger]

ahundredtimes · 19/03/2008 18:39

Yes, she is VERY STRICT about it. Mike's group's dog won't have any eating manners [wail]
