How much water do you drink ?

I've always known I probably don't drink enough water every day and in order to help my weight loss I need to drink more. So after a quick google I should be drinking about 3 litres a day. I've just measured that out and it's almost 9 tumblers!! I'm going to be at the loo a lot!!
I drink plenty of tea and coffee throughout the day but I know that's not as good for me.
I'm committed to trying but it seems a lot! How much water do you all drink a day?

I very rarely drink plain water, my fluid intake comes from tea, coffee and orange juice.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 18/11/2023 22:23

Not enough. My husband jokes I just have been a camel in a former life!

DottyMacaroon · 18/11/2023 22:24

A lot. It’s all I drink. I don’t measure it, but I drink as soon as I get up until dinner time, then I stop so I’m not up all night peeing.

Rainingagainonasynday · 18/11/2023 22:24

3 litres is just daft, can't believe every Google article claimed that?

KnittedCardi · 18/11/2023 22:41

Water? Never, unless it's really hot and I've been sweating. Day to day, a couple of coffees, a juice, a tea, a tumbler of cordial. That's it........what's that, about a litre?

NannyR · 18/11/2023 22:50

One or two glasses plus plenty of tea and coffee. I rarely get thirsty, I pee regularly and it's a light colour so I'm not worried about dehydration. In hot weather I drink more.

RooneysHairTransplant · 18/11/2023 22:53

2-2.5l is what my endocrinologist recommends. 3 is too much

UsingChangeofName · 18/11/2023 22:53

3 litres is a huge amount.
That really isn't what your average person is expected to drink.

mrsfollowill · 18/11/2023 22:58

I drink water all day long- never measured it but must be 2l + I also drink at least 4 cups of tea ( 3 in the first hour I get up in the morning) plus 2 coffees, 2x cans Diet Coke most days. Then wine and G&T in the evenings. I WFH and talk a lot on the phone/teams so find I get a dry mouth. Must admit I need the loo every hour in the day and at least once overnight.

Oakbeam · 18/11/2023 22:59

None, unless I have been exerting myself somewhere warm.

jellytots18 · 18/11/2023 22:59

About 3 x 750ml cups of weak cordial a day. I never ever drink plain water.

Plus Diet Coke and coffee 😅😅

Jewelspun · 18/11/2023 23:01

None.

Aramist · 18/11/2023 23:02

Not enough. I probably have the equivalent of one glass a day. Otherwise it's coffee, yea, alcohol, maybe a bit of juice.

Oakbeam · 18/11/2023 23:04

My Google shows that the Mayo clinic suggests 2.7 litres per day for women, and it can come from any source… beverages, food etc. You don’t need to drink plain water.

If you did, I would be long dead.

1968Aspnocantbearsed · 18/11/2023 23:06

I have to force myself to drink water. Probably 1litre max but I drink about 5 mugs tea/ coffee during the day. Wine or rum and Diet Coke in the evening a couple of days a week !

Magenta65 · 18/11/2023 23:09

I probably drink 1.5 to 2 litres a day but that’s in various forms, never really plain water unless in the summer. Comes from tea, coffee, Pepsi max or glasses of squash

NoItsStillNighttimeDarling · 18/11/2023 23:09

I have one of those 2L bottles that I fill in the morning with sugar free orange cordial and sip throughout the day.

At least that's what I aim to do and actually achieve about 3 days a week

PickAChew · 18/11/2023 23:10

It doesn't have to be cold water. Some tea and coffee is fine. Herbal and fruit teas are a great way of upping your fluid intake.

Barnowlsandbluebells · 18/11/2023 23:10

Probably around 2 litres per day but I rarely drink tea or soft drinks and never coffee.

Jellykat · 18/11/2023 23:11

None. although i carry a bottle with me to work everyday.
I try, because it helps my skin look less dry and because i drink a lot of tea (caffeine) so water helps me sleep.. just never manage it!

OooohAhhhh · 18/11/2023 23:14

Didn't used to drink any, but now I drink 2 litres a day.

funbags3 · 18/11/2023 23:17

I love a cold glass of water. I always have a few throughout the day.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/11/2023 23:18

3 litres a day. I have a 2 litre water bottle and drink all that and fill up another litre. I also drink tea and other hot drinks and drink more water if I'm exercising

Pinkpinkpink15 · 18/11/2023 23:22

Loads, I don't measure it, but it has to be easily 3 litres. Plus tea & coffee.

i don't really drink juice/cordial/squash/fizzy drinks (except as mixers!!)

it HAS to be very very very cold though.

mrsbyers · 18/11/2023 23:23

About 4 litres but I have kidney disease so need more
