I've always known I probably don't drink enough water every day and in order to help my weight loss I need to drink more. So after a quick google I should be drinking about 3 litres a day. I've just measured that out and it's almost 9 tumblers!! I'm going to be at the loo a lot!!
I drink plenty of tea and coffee throughout the day but I know that's not as good for me.
I'm committed to trying but it seems a lot! How much water do you all drink a day?

I've drunk a litre pepsi max and 2; litres of tea today, no water though

justanothermummma · 18/11/2023 23:26

Not enough ha!

Pozz · 18/11/2023 23:29

Those PP's drinking a good amount in a day - do you notice a difference if you don't get your usual amount in?

mommatoone · 18/11/2023 23:45

Not enough! I used to drink at least 2 litres a day. I can definitely tell the difference since i havent been consuming that much of late. Especially with my skin!.

hartof · 18/11/2023 23:46

2-3 litres. I love water - not as much as wine or Diet Coke but I recognise it's healthier so take more water in than the other two!

Yes. I am doing slimming world and the weight has been coming off much easier. Also feel less sluggish and headachey

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/11/2023 23:55

Oh yes and my skin looks really improved too!

bryceQ · 18/11/2023 23:56

I drink 8-10 large glasses a day. Plus one tea and one coffee. Rarely juice and I don't drink alcohol. I've always drank a lot of water i cant imagine not

TheGoddessFreyja · 18/11/2023 23:59

I drink at least about 5 pint glasses full a day of water. Has to be filtered and super cold though!

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBabyYeahRight · 19/11/2023 00:24

Probably about 2 glasses a month. Then again I don't drink much of anything and a typical day for me is maybe 2-3 cups of tea or coffee and that's it.

pippapipps · 19/11/2023 00:44

I drink 5-7 glasses of water a day amongst other drinks

justanothermanicmonday1 · 19/11/2023 00:45

I drink one or two Stanley cups a day. So I think just over 2L? Sometimes I only do one.

Yes - my skin is generally pretty good regardless but I always notice the effect on my bowels!

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 19/11/2023 06:19

Probably 2-3 litres a day? If I don’t have enough my blood pressure drops and I start feeling really ill. I have low blood pressure and the medications I take for severe heart problems lowers it further hence needing to drink more.

FedUpMumof10YO · 19/11/2023 06:23

Roughly about 1.5l which I thought was ok but reading this has made me realise I need to drink more.

lap90 · 19/11/2023 06:24

2-3 litres. 99% of the time its all i drink

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · 19/11/2023 06:37

Firstly the body requires fluid all fluid counts including soup liquid in Food etc . The average 10 stone woman needs about 1500-1800ml per day. Maybe more if vigorous exercise but not litres more. If you weigh more you need more. Some drinks like coffee are mildly direutic which means you don't get full benefit so about 200ml of coffee is like 185-190ml of liquid.

CopperLion · 19/11/2023 06:37

It’s dependant in size. My recommended amount is also 3l a day and I don’t get more than half that on most days.

Xmasfairy86 · 19/11/2023 06:44

At least 2 litres of squash. Plus food, and probably 3 coffees.

definitely notice when I don’t drink enough. Head feels funny.

Simonjt · 19/11/2023 06:59

I follow the 1 litre per 25kg rule, so 4 litres a day, usually of water as I’m not a fan of cordials and I don’t often drink hot drinks.

PlipPlopChoo · 19/11/2023 07:04

Be careful about drinking lots of additional water if you already get in plenty of fluid. It can make you ill.

GetDownkeith · 19/11/2023 07:15

2-3l most days. I have a drink of water when I wake up fill an almost 2l bottle in the morning and drink that during the day at work. You get used to it and do eventually stop running to the toilet every 5 minutes. At first you're a bit like a dry plan.

NappiesAndBunFluff · 19/11/2023 07:25

I've heard about getting 2 litres a day , but not 3!
I'm a poor example because I'm pretty sure I don't drink enough. I only drink plain water at night or if I'm very thirsty. My main fluid intake is from squash, fruit teas, the milk in my cereal and fizzy pop. You can tell if you're getting enough fluid from the colour of your wee though, it should be no farther than a straw colour.
Tea and coffee do have the caffeine which offsets the benefits and if You're having sugar in them then that's a consideration.
The drinking for weight loss - I think that's about making sure you're not mistaking thirst cues for hunger cues, so having a drink with your food and if you're hungry between meals having a drink first and seeing if you're still hungry in half an hour or so.

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 19/11/2023 07:29

About 2l but it's all I drink. I don't like tea or coffee, and don't drink things like juice or fizzy drinks unless I go out for lunch.

tokesqueen · 19/11/2023 07:33

None. I just have three coffees a day, more out of habit.
Am rarely thirsty.
