For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello

How is everyone? What's been happening?

We've been to stay in a hotel in Suffolk and it was ruddy freezing, but had a lovely time.

We did bike rides & swimming & I ate big piles of fruit for breakfast (followed by bacon & eggs obviously but nevertheless).

Not looking forward to work tomorrow

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2008 20:22

oh Lully sorry about the school
are you really going to home ed?

the sausages were veggie ones, not exactly healthy but thought I would point this out in case it was the meat you were about
am trying to redeem myself with bowl of melon and grapes
think I had 10 fruits almost today, but no vegetable

hello FK!
that back to work feeling is always nasty but hopefully it will be ok once you get there?

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 04/03/2008 20:31

LL oh dear Was it the only school you liked?

Franny it will be OK once I get there, but it's the getting up bit I hate..after Easter I am changing my hours to 9.30 start instead of 8.30...horaaaaaaay

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2008 20:33

what time do you have to leave house / get up FK?

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 04/03/2008 20:33

Anyway, tell me what's been happening!

What have I missed?

FrayedKnot · 04/03/2008 20:35

Franny DS & I have to leave the house at about 7.50am but usually we manage about 8 and then I am late for work

No wonder my boss was so keen when I suggested the change in hours

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2008 20:35

did you hear about 100's book? Boco's party? or Bee's attempt to open a Italian brothel?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2008 20:36

LOL leaving the house early is so tricky with a small person
I must admit this would so far be on my top 10 reasons to home educate we lie in bed in our pyjamas listening to the family next door arguing and griping their way off to school

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 04/03/2008 20:46

Book yes Party Yes

Brothel?

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2008 20:48

yes well it existed only in cyberspace but it was a HOWLING success until it burnt down

S1ur · 04/03/2008 21:19

Evening all.

Well, yesterday and day before were such a raging success I thought I'd better lower expectations somewhat. Today reckon I'm on about 6/0. Sigh.

I did try to make the effort. I did some sort of weird tomato-spinach-mushroom medley on Eggy bread for lunch and then I made a kind of baby sweetcorn-asparagus chicken thing for supper. Oh and juice.

Not awful but still.

No exercise.

Well, I wanted to tag along for at least a week so I shall try harder tomorrow

FMV I'm in Sheffield
Boco, Good luck for driving lesson tomorrow, fingers crossed for you.

I don't know about 100's book, what's that then?

And Boco's party is this the one for schmoozing where you planning on the LBD with the colourful tights or shoes?

filthymindedvixen · 04/03/2008 21:53

ohh. that Yorkshire....Isn't that really derbyshire???[True Northern grit emoticon]

lULLY, how gutting for you...are you really going to home ed?

can't post anymore tonight, am feeling sick to stomach over a final presentation for college next week which we have to present as a team - only more than half the team has totally given up

As team co-ordinator do I
a) write the whole fecking thing in an attempt to assuage my own anal need to do things well
b) write a report completely telling it how it is and dobbing the offenders in

TooTicky · 04/03/2008 22:35

Fmv, can you manage something that oh-so-subtly makes it quite obvious how useless the others are and how wonderful you are?

Lully, thank you oh thank you Ds1 is delighted - it is so male and absolutely his (dd1 is NOT permitted to read it) that he has been a different boy. He has been talking animatedly about making his own bow and arrows. Also v. cheering as he has been at home ill for two days. And the clothes - what can I say? They are 10 times posher than anything I own! I must at the very least send you postage money.
Sorry about the school. Are there no other acceptable ones near you? I think the teacher's disposition is absolutely crucial.
Home edding is good y'know - are there any active groups near you?

100x - glad ds1's exam was okay.

Dd1 has been offered a place at her first choice secondary school. The reality of it is rather scary.

FrannyandZooey · 05/03/2008 08:18

Slur don't worry we won't chuck you out yet. Not bad for a new girl IMO. 100 has written a book but we only talk about it here on 10/10 where no-one else can see

I have had melon, grapes, kiwi, banana, raisins

stupid, busy day coming up
