Split skin inside my bum crack

I had some pain around my buttocks for last few days and I couldn’t work out where it is coming from.
I checked in the mirror and noticed that the skin inside my bum crack is split, it has a deep red ridge in there, like a bit of skin it missing.
This gives me excruciating pain when sitting down or immediately when standing up after sitting down.
I tried Sudacream, Fucidin H .
None of them are helping.
There is not any cyst or bump or abscess- only a cracked split skin.
I managed to take picture in a mirror, I don’t want to post it here as tmi, probably would get banned.
Anyone can advice what to do. Thankyou.

Baby nappy cream - metanium

My dd gets this if she's got a bit sweaty or hasn't dried properly, sudocream sorts it overnight.

I was going to say Sudocrem but as that hasn't worked I would say to use Metanium (nappy rash ointment) it's a miracle worker in a yellow box.

I woken up and upon standing up in shooting really bad pain, I checked in the mirror again, looks same, not worse but the pain is so bad, it honestly brings tears into my eyes!

Savlon did not do anything over the night.

I'd wash there, dry thoroughly and use talc to get it as dry as possible and then stay half naked for as long as possible!

I get this. It's horrible. Definitely agree with other PPs about getting it really really dry. Then a mix of thrush cream and hydrocortisone cream until it's healed, once it is use a medicated talc when it's been dried really well. Savers sell a really good one for pennies.

I washed, dried it, put an antibiotic cream. It hurts so much the whole area of bum hurts, can’t even bend down. Is this even possible from this small broken skin?
Sitting hurts, ending down hurts too..

I looks pretty deep crack in the skin..
im thinking it’s not that pilodial cyst or disease is it?
It’s not even on the top of my cheeks, but inside and apprx 3/4 way up.
how this crack in skin even happens?
I never had this before.

In the past I had a sore skin inside cheeks after wiping but usually Sudacream worked immediately, this is a another level.

No, I think it's really common in just foldy, sweaty, not well dried areas! Probably has just built up over a bit of time. It should clear up in a week with right treatment, but sudocrem etc will just cover it and stop it healing, you need to treat it

Do you suffer from psoriasis?

I get this from time to time and only my dermovate clears it up.

@moonpixel not psoriasis but atopic eczema but I never had it like this inside my bum cheeks..
I was thinking to put some heavy steroid cream on it but I’m not sure as the skin seems separated in the crease, not sure what to do, I tried Sudacream, Savlon, Fucidin H - not all in one go but on separate days, none helped..even going for poo now hurts as it’s all in the area..

@JoRobyn I shower daily in the morning but cos I’m always in a rush I probably not dry well after…I know sometimes I’m so quick that I put clothes on and then realise my clothes got wet as I did not dry properly and had to change again and re dry …

I've had this before- but only when I haven't dried myself properly. I now dry all over with a towel, and use loo paper to dry under the boobs and that bit above the bum crack. Sorry if TMI, but I've never had it since doing that.

As others have said, do you have any anti-fungal cream? Canestan etc? I find it normally clears within a few days, but it is the most awful, searing pain 😬

I also tried canesten but even felt worse. Yep the pain is actually so bad, it brings tears into my eyes, like a someone twists a knife in there..

Try sudocrem

Proshield plus. It's a barrier cream but also heals. Proshield spray to wash with. And dry thoroughly!

Perhaps alternate or as pp said, mix the canesten with hydrocortisone cream. (They also sell this as a combined cream.) I would really think fungal, so savlon or antibiotic cream won't help.

You could perhaps think about a cream with lidocaine to help with the pain.

I've had this a couple of times. It's sore but it does heal quickly. Dry well after showers etc and clean and dry it if you've gotten sweaty but can't shower straight away.

Daktacort is a combination of steroid and antifungal. It's worked for me in the past when I've had skin splitting in vulval areas.

It's usually for athlete's foot, but the GP advised it for my problem, max 5 days usage.

I've had this before, metanium nappy cream clears it up within a few days for me.

I feel your pain though, it gets so sore!

I got one here unopened (DHs) but expired 2 yrs ago!

I was going to say pilonidal cyst.
You need to see a GP.

@CottonSock I looked it up and I don’t have any bump or abscess above the bum crack, I got it well inside the cheeks ridge and it looks just like a split cracked skin ( I added pic above)
