OJ - there's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, or that can really help. And, as I don't really know you, maybe its not helpful to add comment.

But, in a way, given what she did to him, you have been his wife longer than she has been his mother, and its your prerogative as his wife, to know and action what's best for him.

Like everyone's said, your dear MIL is just trying to make up for lost time, even though she knows you know best. Don't worry about standing your ground - in the long term, this is the best for you, and the best for Steve and your dcs.

Things feel much brighter today, i went to see steve and got to see him on my owm, last night his mum sister and brother were there and i had to climb over his mother to give steve a kiss, his mum didn't leave us to have anytime with steve althou she had been there with him for hours, the kids struggled to get a cuddle too
anyway it was just me and steve and we were able to have a cuddle and a good chat
steve doesn't know about tomorrows meeting as it is felt that he is not really aware enough to be able to be part of it thou he will come in at the end to see what the plans are. if his family turn up for the meeting the Mac nurse will be sending them away and they can come in for the end bit if they want to.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 28/02/2008 17:57

Darling girl.

BoysOnToast · 28/02/2008 17:58

oh OJ - i cant bear to read your threads mostly... but know that i am thinking of you anyway.

Buda · 28/02/2008 18:44

OJ. I don't know what to say.

I hope the meeting goes as well as it can tomorrow. Will be thinking of you both.

Tickle · 28/02/2008 19:02

Agree with kindersurprise, that it seems to be a competition - she is trying to prove that she loves him.

God that makes it hard for you. Can you not have a word with the staff - and they could intervene to allow you and the kids to have some time alone with Steve - it must be easier for him to cope with fewer faces round him at one time.

Sending love. xx

Oh OJ....I just can't think of any words to say that are of any help/support. You are in everyone's thoughts on here. What a tough time you are all having. Sending you all my love and hugs. xxxx

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/02/2008 19:56

Sending you some strength and my thoughts xx

onlyjoking9329 · 28/02/2008 20:32

thanks for all the suggestions of taking photos in, he has lots of photos in his room and i have loaded him some music onto his mp3 i have took him some monty python videos in but he doesn't want tt watch them as it bothers his eyes, i did manage to get him to eat some soup today and got him to have a drink too.
i am worrying about the meeting cos i don't really know what they are going to suggest, i am worried that they have invited the kids social worker my worst fear is that they will say that steve will put the kids at risk, then i will have to make some very difficult choices but hopefully it won't come to that.

How about audio books? We have some Monty Python on CD which is almost as good as watching it, and just about anything read by Stephen Fry makes the time swing by (if he's still having trouble sleeping for example...)

onlyjoking9329 · 28/02/2008 21:05

he has some audio books but he can't follow the story, he likes his music thou

moodlumthehoodlum · 28/02/2008 21:10

What about photos to music on a laptop? A nice friend could put them together - like a slideshow almost?

onlyjoking9329 · 28/02/2008 21:19

i took his digital photo frame in, it upset him to look at the photos he said it made him see what he stands to lose
