For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

You've gone mad.

Tell me about the book fair.

ahundredtimes · 09/02/2008 19:00

But only once.

ahundredtimes · 09/02/2008 19:10

Oh dear, you've gone off to make a cup of tea three times, and I want to hear about the book fair and I have to go now.

FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2008 19:46

sorry it was cuddling ds time
I had to have a long conversation about Father Christmas, and do I think he can run very fast, and is he just a kind Daddy or is he magic, and did me and Daddy REALLY put his stocking there and what shall we put in the stocking for the new baby.

do you want to know what haul I got or more specific things?

I got a decent hardback copy of \www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0000CODU9/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1202585896&sr=8-15\thi s} which I may resell, I haven't decided. I paid £2.75 and reckon it is worth about £30. We have a paperback copy but the illustrations in this one are nicer. Hmm.

sorry it is this, Grimble

I also got this which looking at the Amazon prices, I paid over the odds for but it is lovely. I circled it for 3 hours in ever decreasing circles until I bought it just before I left. It might make you cross, 100, it is about a little boy who can't wait for the art lesson in school and then he has to use the school crayons rather than his box of 64 colours and he is only allowed ONE piece of paper and has to copy the teacher
but they work it out in the end. I love Tomie dePaola - Michaeil Bird Boy is one of my favourite books in the world

Hello Lovely Veggers.

I have eaten quite well today. Carrot and lentil soup and homemade bread at my lovely friend's house, a banana, little bit of raw carrot and leftover courgette frittata (love it cold!) an apple and for dinner, parsnips, carrots, broccoli with toad in the hole Will have pear and orange juice and raisins tonight to make 10 and................

I JOGGED FOR 20 MINUTES WITHOUT STOPPING OR WALKING or anything!!!! [proud]

Do I get a sticker today?

TooTicky · 09/02/2008 20:01

Franny - I'm quite chuffed that you missed me I feel wanted.
Goodness, Grimble! I have Grimble. It is quite bizarre.
Have you read the Mortimer books by Joan Aiken? The dcs fall about uncontrollably at the Escaped Black Mamba one.
We have one Lotta book. It is waiting for dd2 to be a little older. Dd1 is too old to really appreciate, ds1 doesn't like books about girls, ds2 is just fussy and slightly word intolerant - think it's something to do with his language delay. He's fine now but needs wordy things to be concise and specific - he doesn't "get" things in rhyme. Or description.
I'm waffling......

TooTicky · 09/02/2008 20:03

Pink, you get two stickers. Shiny ones.

pinkspottywellies · 09/02/2008 20:19

TooT I missed you too. I was thinking that you haven't been around much while I was getting dressed this morning. Have you been avoiding MN or is real life getting in the way?!

FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2008 20:24

of course I missed you, silly vegger person
don't disappear again please

PSW it was your 20 minutes day! that is fantastic isn't it?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2008 20:25

oh Mortimer, yes, I had one as a child and the Black Mamba really rings a bell. I looked at one today for ds but I think the humour was too old for him. It is funny, but I have only just twigged that Joan Aiken wrote those and the Necklace of Raindrops jobbies which we absolutely adore. They seem so different, in style

Evening.

DH and I have been having champagne. For no good reason than it was in the fridge. And was a half bottle.

DH has tidied out a room known as the garden room that used to be a garage or something attached to the house. Anyway, I discovered I do have the Players Boy, just didn't realise and so haven't read it.

So this is a good discovery .
