Dedicated Swallower of Passion (Fruit) - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am giving up coffee, alcohol and refined sugar for lent. Bit like bootcamp.

Right domesticity calls (has been calling for a while actually and is now gnashing teeth and wielding dirty cultery and overflowing bins - I must go.)

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2008 10:46

MamaG is your mind in the GUTTER?

Bee please cut down gradually on coffee or you will feel so pants you think you have flu

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2008 10:47

fullmoonfiend · 03/02/2008 10:55

have you seen the weather out there??!!

ah no, you're in the suth. You probably have lovely weather.
Tis tongue-witheringly cold, grey and very windy and bleak.

If I have to play charades again I will...

We'd go swimming but DH has got all paranoid since the norovirus thing and is convinced we'd be swimming in a warm bath of congealing virus blended with unwashed arses. Probably a good point

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2008 10:57

oh dear sorry
it is bright and fresh here (says she from under the duvet)
erm

I'm a little ashamed to realise how much I rely on them to entertain each other...I like to think I'm reinforcing brotherly bonds etc but probably I am just steering them towards huge antipathy to each other in later years!

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 11:10

raspberries and granola and oats

no sign of those kids nyet

ZippiBabes · 03/02/2008 11:12

get them to make their own invisible ink should take them a while and then they can learn semaphore morse code and that other kind of code where you replace all the letters with numbers

smoke signals

and bake potaqtoes in the bonfire

fullmoonfiend · 03/02/2008 11:13

that sounds yummy Zips

MissCreant · 03/02/2008 11:33

same as zip but kiwi and banana and apple as well, with yoghurt.

I have only recently got up and I have a headache. That's what you get for drinking gin after wine I suppose.

Good title - if a little boaky.

fullmoonfiend · 03/02/2008 11:38

I had too much wine last night. Please type quietly.
