Anyone else have a very weird severe flu like illness?

DH and I have come down simultaneously with a strange flu-like illness. It's an URTI but we've both been running over 38c for 3 days now and just getting worse. Repeated negative LFTs. Flu vaccine +
I'm hearing of some weird non-covid flu like illness sending people to a&e (apparently swabbing neg for RSV and influenzas too). Has anyone seen much of this? This is extremely bad.

@Pickledprune - every symptom you've described mirrors what I had last month, and that was Influenza A, confirmed by hospital test. Every Covid test I took was negative. The loss of smell/taste weirded me out the most. I hurt my ribs with relentless coughing, and know someone who has cracked a rib with it!

Hi yes it's awful. This afternoon I've started feeling off again, mega tired, and coughing again. I can feel mucus at the back of my throat but can't get it up sorry for tmi. I'm not coughing anything concerning up but I think it's time to ring the doctors. 🥺 I hope you are ok now xx

Thought I was better. Went into office. Bad idea, coughed so much last night I vomited.
It seems never ending.

Has anyone’s glands stayed painful for weeks after rest of symptoms have gone?
