For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

my friend

has changed the subject title of our emails to a very complex scence title since i pointed out that sending and receiving emails with the title dogging might be inappropriate

i said i found the new title sexy and he was surprised...incomprehensible and very very long but sexy

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 20:34

iappropriate at work

obvs quite acceptable otherwise lol

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:37

And bananas are herbs but What About These Cake Parcels then?

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:40

I'd pay

Boco · 30/01/2008 20:40

What's all this pea chat, veg talkers?

I've just spent 2 hours!! with a financial advisor. And not had any supper yet .

And while the financial advisor was he, the girls decided to play take the play kitchen carving knife and saw off each other's limbs. I said in a sing song voice, 'what are you doing girls?' and they said 'knife fights, cutting each other into chunks and then making a pie with mushrooms.' Financial advisor who does not have children looked mystified / horrified and said 'don't girls usually play with dolls?', and we shrugged and said 'about this tracker rate?...'

[disclaimer, at no point have they ever been exposed to knife fights, cannibalism, scenes of a knife fighty or cannibalistic nature in life or on television and this has nothing at all to do with me and my very nice parenting ways]

fullmoonfiend · 30/01/2008 20:41

TooT, I suggested this earlier but they are Pretending Not To Hear...

FrayedKnot · 30/01/2008 20:41

Peas are not the only fruit

Franny have you ahd a comical proposition?

So early in the evening?

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:45

Fmf, we will have our own meet-up one day and tell them about all our beautiful cakes
(are you quietly devastated about UB40? I will never see them live now. It wouldn't be the same without Ali)

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 20:45

think we need something like that as a thread title...

fullmoonfiend · 30/01/2008 20:47

TooT. Tell me gently. What about UB40....?

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:48

He's okay, but he has left

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:49

To pursue a solo career.
And there has been acrimony, which I think is really sad.

fullmoonfiend · 30/01/2008 20:50

Oh Phew. Though someone had expired...

Have they actually been actively making music at all recently??

Loved UB40 in the 80s. Loved them!

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 20:51

FK yes how intuitive of you tbh comedy propositions any later in the evening than this are doomed to failure

look I can send cake from London but it will be stale. And in bits.

ing sycophantically at Boco's "what's all this pea chat, veg talkers"

There is a new album due out soon. Ali apparently released a solo one last year - just found out.
Have you heard Labour of Love 3? It took a wee while to grow on me but I love it now.

pinkspottywellies · 30/01/2008 20:53

By the way Franny I laughed at your road crossing anecdote on the green man thread earlier. And I read something of Boco's that made me laugh too. Can't remember what.

Tatties · 30/01/2008 20:53

Hello luvvies

Franny you know I want to come but we are still waiting for the important letter

Ds has devoured half a honeydew melon today (or "lemon" as he calls it ) - look!

FrayedKnot · 30/01/2008 20:53

Assume however your presence here means you turned him down in order to chew the fat about peas and how many people want to eat cake

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 20:55

I said wait a bit MN is amusing me

and "have a shower first bleeeeugh you have just run 10k and are all clammy"

oh his endorphins are rising

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:56

Boco, when I first read your post I somehow thought they were playing with a real carving knife and have been wondering how to be tactful about it. Mind you, in other cultures children do handle dangerous things when young because they have been taught how. I sort of try this approach at home but ds1 sometimes surprises me. Ramble ramble.

Franny, I don't think that nice coconut & chocolate cake would go stale so quickly...it might be worth a try.

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 20:58

oh was it not a real carving knife i thought hoiw cool

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 21:01

at TooT's persistence

we aren't going there, we're going to a festival of pastry and there's going to be a fountain and flowers and napkins and stuff

you could phone or email them and ask for the recipe? say we were that very nice party who stayed too long and didn't drink any wine left them a big tip
