For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 18:39

no zippi you said you MAY come

a couple people have said they MAY come

I am not counting anyone who has said they MAY come

I MAY fly up in the air

I MAY get huffy about people not coming to eat cake with me

(I am just messing about, I am happy to eat cake with lots of veggers or one. Or none. I am just happy to eat cake, really)

Afternoon all

I have an important question... Where do you store your mangos? Fridge or fruit bowl? Which is better?

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 19:39

window sill

but with my track record I would do the opposite for best results [mango gloom]

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 19:40

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 19:59

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:06

If you go to the place we went to last time, you could parcel up pieces of cake for the absent ones

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 20:07

so do onions count and i shall find reference to peas as fruit

OverRated · 30/01/2008 20:08

No no nooooo, peas can't be fruit. I neeeeeed them to count as a vegetable.

I have mango gloom also, Franny - it's been in the fridge for 5 days but hasn't ripened so it's back to sitting on the counter top. Def won't put it on the windowsill -it'd freeze!

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 20:09

my science is the new sex

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:11

OR, your illness may be down to your body throwing off all the bad now that you are eating better, so it is a good, streamlining sort of thing.
Like when people change to natural skin products and they flare up - it's a sort of detox, I suppose.

TooTicky · 30/01/2008 20:12

Zippi, that is quite unreadable.

ZippiBabes · 30/01/2008 20:13

i know it's sexy isn't it

fullmoonfiend · 30/01/2008 20:13

hmm think I'L stick to domestic science...

dh is out so i have feasted on smoked mackerel with avacado, and mixed bean salad. And hte most divine chocolate brownies I have ever made...

Had home made leek soup for lunch, rasps and lychees.

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 20:18

OR it will never ripen in the fridge

put it in a paper bag if you are in a hurry, that helps

zippi that just means "the fruit of the pea plant" as in "the fruit of my loins". Nonsense are peas fruit, silly STUFF and NONSENSE. They are legumes I bet

yesyes onions count why would they not?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 20:19

oh god aaaargh

well I am IGNORING THAT

they are legumes it says so

any fule kno a legume is a VEGETABLE

Zippi - you have made me feel quite old. There was a time when I understood that type of thing

FMF you certainly have had a feast. Sounds delicious.

Toot, I hope you are right. Am feeling much better today

FrannyandZooey · 30/01/2008 20:32

look I think the key word here is "botanically"

peas are "botanically" a fruit

but bollocks are they really

in fact botanically = bollocks are they. QED.
